This place has a Cheers atmosphere. Laid back and comfortable, one of those places where they know your name and time stops. Also, food is good.. at least it looks good, I ordered this sweet potato small plate soft taco dish (actually two good size tortillas), I can't remember exactly what it's called on the menu but holy wow, the flavor. So delicious. Then as I left there was some great band playing and a bunch of people eagerly awaiting them music starting. It was one of those moments where you feel drawn to experience something but you can't, it was bittersweet. This place is special almost like magic, a gentle sweet spot away from life. I went there when they first opened and liked it okay, but I could tell they were getting their feet under them, nothing stood out to say. Now it's different. Highly recommend.

Upon arrival it was a nice friendly vibe. There was a band playing jazz, the bartenders were friendly and helpful. Once we ordered the band was done and we went without any noise what so ever. My 10 month old loved watched the bob ross channel on mute, and all the aarp commercials but it was boring. The seltzer was good. I got the passion fruit blood orange guava. The second one was pomegranate, and it was not tasty. We waited a while for our food, about 45 minutes or more. The burger was good. My husband liked his chicken sandwich, but would we come back? Probably not. The games were fun to play while we waited.

It's far too difficult to have a sit-down meal here. You have to order at the bar, which - while inconvenient - isn't a deal breaker. However, when a few in my group wanted to order grilled cheese sandwiches (a larger portion of the menu), we were told that they didn't have any of the bread used to make them. So we put in an order for half our group while the other half tried to figure out what they wanted instead of grilled cheese, which ended up being confusing and disruptive for the poor people behind us waiting to simply order drinks.

What can I say… I wasn’t really a burger person my whole life. Don’t get me wrong - I do like a burger once in a while, but that’s not my all time favorite and definitely not something I would actively seek when weighing my dining options. But then husband and I discovered Ypsi Alehouse! Now I catch myself dreaming about the place from time to time! Unfortunately, our schedules don’t allow us to go out more often, but honestly, they serve some of the best burgers I’ve had in my life! The other place is in Normandy, France 😂
