Is there a 5 barfs rating? This place must either write its own good reviews or people out here aren't familiar with what food is supposed to taste like. I went for the "all you can eat special" and the food was really bad. Pizza crusts were a choice between soda cracker and thin crust with tomato paste slopped on. There didn't seem to be anything in the way of spices in the tomato paste and very little "cheese" was present. From the appearance what "cheese" there was may have been artificial as it hadn't melted in the oven. The meat was rubbery and tasteless on the pizza therefore lending to the usual practice of maximizing profits at the cost of customer satisfaction. The rest of the fare on the buffet was similar quality and there was little effort expended to keep food either fresh or quantities sufficient to satisfy customers. I went mainly to try the Hanger 24 beer I had heard was good but again was disappointed as the lager I tried tasted like it had been made with soapy water and someone pissing in it. As for it being a lager it was more a strong pilsner and not up to a lager standard. I also had a hard time communicating to the little girl on the register what beer was, and what lager even meant aside from her not giving me a receipt like I asked. Prices for the beer were not posted and for one person 17.50 is way too much for this kind of fare. I went with high hopes but perhaps that was a bad idea because I was very disappointed. I can only assume that if you are a person who mistakes Budweiser for beer and this kind of garbage for food you might enjoy the place but I will never return. This review is personal opinion and since I was not born in Yucaipa seem to have higher standards coming from a more cosmopolitan area with a wider...
Read moreOK! OK! The food is great. This is the best chicken I have ever eaten. I was in the Banning area with my wife 10 years ago and we were hungry. Not knowing the area well or at least good eating places and I do not mean just the run of the mill fast food junk I saw a Cop.I have learned in the past that if you want to know anything about the area you are in ask any of the local service providers as they not only know the area well but they also know the in's and out's of any thing that you are looking for including dinning establishments. Like I said ask a cop, bread man, milk man, mailman fire man and the likes. My wife and I have been going the for at least 10 years and we drive from Rialto to Calimesa just to eat there. The owner is very nice and so are the staff. Some times the young ones get a little behind but they will get it as they get older. I too have been in business for myself and having the public to deal with and at times they do become TURDS. Just because you are the customer does not give you the right to be a pain in the A__ __if you get my drift. I have recommend this place to everyone that goes in that town or who wants to drive a little bit and have a different meal. It is a very little quaint / homey place. My wife and I have a black couple that we go there with and they love it too. By the way the only reason I said they were black so that the owners would realize who put this write up in here. I think he will get it either that I am VAIN. LOL

Read moreTo my dismay, Johnny closed his scrumptious restaurant a few years ago. I spoke to him shortly before this tragic event. He assured me he would be selling to a local establishment. I was still heartbroken, displaced, and wondering when, WHEN!? Johnnies was my families' FAVORITE local place to pick up DELICIOUS food. I missed the mozzarella sticks, the real deal ranch dressing for dipping, the cole slaw like no other, the eye rolling-to-the-back- of-your-head with- explosive-taste sensations uniquely seasoned BROASTED CHICKEN, the magical super creamy mashed potatoes, and fluffy & crunchy outside, soft inside, biscuits. I could go on. Oh my Jonas. There are not enough adjectives to describe the enormously satisfying menu Johnny offers. No doubt, i'm happy for Johnny and his family, as he enjoys his retirement. But, the loss stung. Every time I drove by the old establishment, I felt the ache. Until one glorious day, I discovered PIZZA CHALET had added my beloved restaurant to it's kitchen!!! OH THE JOY!!! It was like reuniting with a deceased loved one!! I've ordered countless times and am not disappointed. If you haven't tried Johnnies BROASTED Chicken yet, you simply MUST order TODAY! You're...
