UPDATE! After speaking with "John (the owner)" he rudely cut me off several times during my phone call, after learning the manager is his Daughter that I delt with the night of the incident. He tried claiming he had the whole conversation recorded which audio recorded is falsey claimed, and all he kept claiming was statements left in my first review. Last portion of the so called conversation he asked what I wanted and I respectfully said sir "I would appreciate if you just listen and heard what I had to say..." he rudely replied saying he knows his employees very well and then hung up on me after once again cutting me off when I tried to reply!!! Well apparently he has raised his daughter to be rude just as he is to customers, as well now I see where his expectations are for hiring employees!! I returned a call leaving my name and number asking him to deal with the matter in professional way. Or this issue with further be brought to BBB and a attorney, as cross contamination and health hazard with in there facilities!!! EXTENDED UPDATE!! The food was not made before I arrive yes correct. After calling in the add to my order is when I then was told by and additional employee, that the food contained onion in the chicken they intend to put on my food. Not to mention the salad dressing sent with the order had contained onion in it. The chicken burger my husband ordered was plain with cheese only, the order had everything on it and smothered in mayo, the full order of chili cheese fries shared with my son contained onion on it and after picking or order up another unnamed customer complained about her order of fries being cooked in the same oil that the onion rings are cooked in, which means our chili cheese fries were cooked in the same oil as well as the taco shell that was placed in the deep fryer. This no way was your employes accommodating my allergies and as well did they not make the entire order to specifics asked. Yes JOHN you may not be able to satisfy all customers, but satisfaction has nothing to do with health hazards and cross contaminated foods for people with allergies... I never asked for a refund or the meal to be replaced, all I ask for was the manager to please listen to me, I also clarified there was no mention about suing your company. Only comment was contacting BBB in my original comment! So thank you JOHN for clarifying what I should do is contact my personal Lawyer in this matter!!! Since you are correct the food wasn't made before I arrived but yet it was still serve with contamination of onion exposed to my food!! Thank you for your statement!
Ok, so I've eaten here before, usually servers are polite, last multiple visit have been rude and slow service not even on busy nights. Today topped all visits I made a phone order, I called in place my first two simple entrees, then place and order for a taco salad explaining I have a HIGH ONION ALLERGY, the woman explain that the salad had onions and would put no onion. I call back less then a min later to add to my order, a second woman went over the order and explained that all the meat in the taco salad was cooked with onion after I asked the previous phone order if it was grilled chicken to clarify. When I came in I asked to speak to a manager, odds are the girl that I spoke with second was the "manager" she was rude when I tried to explain my allergies and how severe it was. She the replied rudely back saying "oh were busy" which from the looks of it they weren't and even if the were there is no excuse to serve someone a meal with onions after the explained up front. On top of this whole issues and rudeness from the so called people who represent Johns Place, my husband walks in to pay after we wait for our food to be made and the same girl ask "she is just allergic to onion?" Walks over to the cook afterwards and say "yea she is just allergic to onion don't put onion on her food" THIS SO CALLED EMPLOYEES ARE IDIOT AND IGNORANT! They should not be working in a food place where they are responsible for food service! Definitely...
Read moreDON'T BRING YOUR SERVICE DOG. THEY WILL KICK YOU OUT. The first time we went here my friends had a small certified dog. Without asking if it was a service dog they told us we had to leave. So we went and sat outside (which we told them) and after 15 minutes in the cold wind without any artful showing up we left.
Here we go.... second attempt a few weeks later: I ordered a veggie omelet. Asked to leave out the bell peppers and replace them with extra mushrooms. The waitress told me that there would be an extra charge (are these omelets pre-made). I asked why. She said because of the extra mushrooms. I mentioned that I didn't want the bell peppers. Wouldn't that be a fair trade? Last time I checked BP are more expensive than mushrooms. So I had to laugh when she insisted that I still would be charged extra for mushrooms. I felt like I was talking to a wall. Anyhow....I said... it's fine. Extra mushrooms, please. The result: veggie omelet with hardly any mushrooms at all. No spinach no nothing. Just a few onions 5 mushroom slices and cheese Oh and a few tomatoes. You can see in the pictures. I'm not making this up. The food was a bit bland and really nothing special. Prices are ok but I rather go elsewhere. 5 minutes after I had to use the bathroom and guess what happened there? Not sure if it's the cheap and poisonous seed oils being used or if there was some sort of bug in the food. Not sure. I didn't even try to explain to the waitress again about the mushrooms. I figured she would not understand anyway. Biscuits and gravy didn't seem like homemade. And if they were it was a very bland and bad version of homemade. Not sure if my standards are too high but I slowly starting to doubt my taste butts. Wish me luck, next time or I'll try a high standard kinda place.
Update to management reply:
Well, that's what you say in your reply about service dogs but it's far from true and illegal not letting customers inside. We weren't even given a chance to say that it was a service dog.
Sadly, not even management understood that I wanted to substitute an item and not add. As mentioned above, I did not want to add just the mushrooms. I wanted to leave the Bell Peppers out. So it's a substitution, not an addition. And I completely understand the cost of products. Bell Peppers cost more than mushrooms. At least the one you were using. So therefore you still would have saved cost of making my meal. There was no need to increase cost. At least not at aaaaalllll the other places I go to. You are the only one that I know off. I did not try to get an addition for free. I tried to substitute. But again. I'm talking to a wall. If management does not understand such a simple task then I really can't be surprised that waitresses didn't get it either. Thank you for your reply but you misunderstood as well. Sometimes businesses just get too greedy.... the downfall of many....
Read moreI will tell you right now that the burger I ordered was absolutely phenomenal. I wanted a rare burger, and that's what I got. It was honestly perfect, nothing could have been better. So why am I giving a 3 star? Well, I'll tell you why, the service was horrible. I have never been made to feel stupid in my entire life at a restaurant or in a customer service situation. When I was asked, how do I want my burger done, I thought about it, and then I said, I want it rare. And the girl who is taking my order looked at me dead in the face with the most surprised look on her face and asked me if I knew what that meant and I looked at her and I said, what do you mean? And she goes, do you know what that is? As if I didn't know what rare means? So I looked at her, and I said Yes, I know what that means. May I please have it. I'm sorry, but there are just so many other things She could have said because that did make me feel like I had an "I'm stupid" sign written on my face or something. Do I know what that is? I mean, honestly, so many different ways she could have asked me. So maybe train your employees to speak to people a little better. I mean, it's a social skill that she should technically already have, and I guess people just don't understand or know when they're being rude or maybe they're just so used to being rude that they don't care, that was just so ridiculous and it really did upset me. It was the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. It was nighttime, maybe like between 7 or 8 o'clock. I'm not entirely sure. But it was Wednesday...
