Found this place while driving through 4th Avenue and seeing a sign for some pizza, I'd never seen a pizza spot there before so I decided to pull in and see what they had. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a well decorated food service truck with options for both outdoor and indoor seating. Unlike other food trucks, the owner himself took care of my girlfriend and I by bringing us our menus and our food. We ordered a large chicken Alfredo pizza with garlic bread as an appetizer and although we got the appetizer quickly, the pizza took about 30-35 to get to us while people who got there after us got their food in a more timely manner. My girlfriend and I never voiced any complaints because we understand that things can get busy. However, what happened after we ate is the reason why I highly recommend this place. After we ate our food, the owner grabbed a seat and spoke to us for a second, voicing his expectations of his staff and business. He explained that the pizza we ordered wasn't quite up to par when first taken out of the oven so he decided to tweak it and make it again. For the slight time inconvenience, he decided that our food would be free including all drinks and appetizers. This showed me how passionate he and his team were in delivering a pleasant experience to customers and taking pride in their work, settling for nothing short of perfection with their food. Even before the blessing of him giving us the food for free, I would've gladly paid full price for what I ate as the menu items were properly priced and tasted delicious. I even decided to order a Philly cheese steak sub to go just to at least leave him with some money and a tip. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and I plan to come back again...
Read moreOur second time here and the staff is always very friendly and accommodating, making helpful suggestions which is important to me because my wife is usually a little undecisive at places that we haven't visited often.
The selection of ready-made slices is limited which is understandable because the 4th Avenue location isn't in an area with heavy foot traffic. That said, they'll make any pizza you want even if you're only going to have a slice and it's worth the wait which is usually only about 8 to 10 minutes. I prefer it fresh anyway.
I had a slice of ready-made pepperoni and a slice of their Italian Trio cheese pizza which they made fresh. Both very good but I preferred the fresh Trio. My wife had a 10" Margherita which was more than she could finish and she loved it.
"Pizza snobs" could find things to nit-pick about the food, I'm sure but in Yuma, Angry Italian is absolutely among the best, freshest pizza you're going to find.
Some may be turned off by the location/seating but the option of sitting outside or inside is very convenient, particularly on nice days. Definitely not upscale but great for a casual lunch or dinner and perfectly fine for families with kids. Pricing on their items is totally reasonable for the amount of food and the quality you get.
I would love to see them move to a location with more foot traffic giving them incentive to keep a bigger variety of ready-made slices on hand. Yuma really needs a place other than Sam's Club to grab a quick lunch that doesn't require waiting for a pizza to bake or taking an entire pie home.
Would definitely recommend the Angry Italian if you're in the mood for pizza, pasta, salad, stromboli, or a...
Read moreIt was our first time ordering from here so naturally we wanted to try a little of everything. We ended up ordering the Family Dinner (Mom's Night Off), which includes:
1 Large pizza - (we ordered our go-to favorite toppings) 1 stromboli - Chicken Alfredo 1 Sauteed Pasta - Dad's Favorite which we were told is already generally mild spicy, so we decided to go all in and order it WILD spicy 1 order of Angry bread AND we also got an order of stuffed mushrooms
The pizza was delicious. Great crust, savory toppings.
The stromboli was good. My wife enjoyed it and I did as well, but when compared to the rest of the spicy food we got, it became sort of vanilla. We'll definitely try out their other strombolis next time.
I thoroughly enjoyed the WILD sauteed pasta but it became too much for my wife. She said her mouth was on fire the whole time and had to eat it so fast just so she could get over it. I didn't have that problem. I actually enjoyed the spice and that little burn I got on the lips. So if you're a fan of spicy stuff, WILD might be just right for you, otherwise, maybe start off with the mild and see if you like it.
The ANGRY bread was cheesy and the jalapenos were a tasty topping. I didn't feel they were too hot, but they added that delicious vinegary taste to each bite.
And finally the stuffed mushrooms. I wish I would have gotten two orders of those. They were so good.
We'll definitely go back and try all their...
