For a lifetime now, our large extended family have all enjoyed The Crossing, we've experienced its many changes and ownership changes, and it's eventual well done remodel that we experience now, I've so many wonderful things to say about their foods, however I'm aware there are occasions where things can go amiss, so I'm only writing this review for constructive criticism purposes, to keep us coming for many more wonderful years at The Crossing, 6 of our extended family members chose to meet up for dinner at The Crossing last night, the service was lovely, she handled our situation as good as it could have been handled, everything else was great, but the Beef Stroganoff pasta looked a lil like dog food when it arrived, it was cold and looked stirred way too many times, it looked thick and chunky, pasta was severely overcooked and over stirred, looked like a reheat that was reheated and stirred too many times, not any where near a fresh prepared meal in any way, the clam chowder soup was cold, thin and did not in any way taste like clam chowder, now after saying this.. I want to be sure and add that these 2 meals amongst the 5 ordered, was the only problem, and the waitress handled our respectful complaints with proffessional finess, both dishes were returned and removed from the ticket, as should have been, but the worse thing that happened was when the pasta dish was taken back at the original complaint, the waitress was told not to reheat it, it would not be acceptable, to prepare a fresh dish and make it edible would be the only acceptable alternative, but the same plate was brought back, the waitress said that gravy was added to the same plate of pasta with some added seasoning, so it was of course stirred a bunch more lol, with all these new added ingredients, so it was, of course, rejected without concideration, by now the family member had nibbled from the rest of our plates, she did not order anything else from the menu, as too much time had passed, allowing that to take place, we believe a new fresh pasta dish should have been prepared, unless of course.. and the concern was that dish is possibly pre-prepared and always reheated to serve to the customers.. a bad bad no no, the soup should always be hot, clam chowder is ordered for the taste of the clam and should not be so thin, clam chowder is a hardy soup.. oh I would like to add that the squa bread is no where near the same product
Thank you for allowing our review, we hope this helps you in correcting these issues, so that we can keep coming back, to enjoy our meals at The Crossing, for many more years and...
Read moreMy Birthday dinner went sour!! My husband & two friends arrived at 4:57 pm on March 25th/18. The hostess was prompt to seat our party within seconds to last booth on right wall. We looked through the menu. Anastasia our waitress after 20 mins asked us for drinks & or appetizers. Ordered two water, wine & Cesar. She also took our food orders since we had decided. Hand breaded shrimp, chicken fettuccine Alfredo,Philly cheese steak & grilled turkey melt ,it's now 5:20!! Took 5-10 mins to get two water and another 10 mins to get the alcohol drinks., now it's 5:40!! By 6:00 our area was not that busy so we asked about our meals, called Anastasia over who informed us there was a big party so the kitchen was backed up. Also told us that three meals were ready & under the heat lamps waiting for the shrimp dinner. She brought the three to start which were cold and unappetizing then about 10 mins later the last meal was brought, it's 6:10!! The shrimp meal was hot at least. The rest of our party were so dissatisfied with their meals so asked to speak to the manager....Stephanie, I believe, came over to apologize to us as they had the large party in next room & they were down one chief....not our problem! Stephanie said she would comp all our meals except the alcohol and also ordered 3 new meals. Which took about 15 mins to arrive, now 6:25 !! hour and 25 mins since we arrived The pasta dish arrived fresh & hot while the two sandwich meals were semi warm and tasteless. We ate these meals as by now everyone was extremely hungry. I know the restaurant was having issues yet keeping the customer informed would have been the best for everyone. The service was extremely slow and bad as we never had cutlery on the table except when the food arrived .Anastasia put four loose forks & napkins on the table so we had to go get sets with knives in them to use. This was the worst experience at a restaurant especially it being a special occasion too! No stars...or less but...
Read moreI have always been a fan of the crossing but not anymore. The crossing used to be my go to for wings. I called and placed an order of 40 wings and the gal on the phone told me 25 min, no problem. I waited about 30 min and then headed over considering I live about 6 minutes from the crossing. I get there and my order "doesn't exist" hostess is looking at me like I am crazy. What upset me the most was the so called manager who walked up to me and told me she did not know what was going on. I tried to tell her my order so at least she could run to the kitchen and have them figure out what happened but instead she kept cutting me off, anytime I tried to say something she cut me off with such a bad attitude. As a manager of a restaurant myself I was shocked with this behavior. The gal who took my order never put it in. The manager explained to be it'd be about 15 min. Not even apologizing once for the inconvenience of me waiting longer on an order I placed 35 min ago. Me loving the crossing so much I waited. 25 minutes went by and nothing. I asked politely how much longer and the hostess said Maybe 6-8 minutes. I am a very patient person but this was unexceptable. As a manager, if this happened in my restaurant I would have been apologetic for one and two would at least offer something whether it's something to drink while i wait or a coupon of some sort for next time for the mistake that was made. I understand people make mistakes and it can get busy. But this was not the case. No one apologized especially the bartender who originally took my order. I've never felt such hostility from a manager. When my food finally came out after waiting 30 min, the manager did not even show face I had to call her from the back to explain to her that this was wrong. She then rolled her eyes and gave me 15 percent discount and walked away. I wasn't expecting a discount just an apology but that never happened. I am so disappointed in the crossing. Such...
