UPDATE: Im actually surprised, I noticed there is no date when I typed the original review so Im posting todays date now in case it doesnt display the date. July 3rd 2024. We decided to try this place out again. Weve been here only a couple times over the past 24 months. The food had been ok but not as good as it used to be and the prices have raised. (In all fairness what places havent raised their prices though) so although I didnt do a review we did go check out some other places, but wanted to come back here again and check them out because prior to everything being closed down from the covid, this had been our favorite Mexican Restaurant for years and came here often, at least 2 to 4 times a month. Well, the service was good. The staff was friendly. It was Moderately busy, not too bad. Music kind of annoying. When given my menu and opend it, it had salsa splattered on the top of it. She immediatly got me a new menu. NOW THE FOOD: We both got beef fajitas. At almost $19 a plate, it was tasty, but a disappointment. The beef was abit overcooked. My husband claims alot overcooked. (So depends on your taste) There was a whole lot of peppers, mostly all green, it used to come with mixed colored peppers, not a lot of beef. This dish yrs ago used to come with a little bed of shredded lettuce topped with a dollop of guacamole and sour cream. Eventually they phased out the guacamole. I understood that and would pay the extra money to have some. Now they dont have any sour cream on the plate either. I believe those two items added 'life' to this dish and should be included. My Tortilla was ripped, and they were overheated (Hard to fill a torn over heated tortilla) although I managed to do so. The rice and beans were great. The flavor of the meat was good despite being over cooked. The peppers were the perfect doneness. The salsa has changed over the yrs. also. The chips were over baked (or deep fried) as well. Dont get me wrong, this wasnt a horribly bad meal, it just wasnt the quality it used to be. With this town continuing to grow, so does the compitition. Weve eaten here off and on for close to 20 yrs. Im sad to say at this point that theres other places out there that would serve this same meal and they would have them beat. Since there are many dishes to choose from here, some obviously could be better than others so in all fairness you may want to give them a try. Our meal was 2 beef fajaitas that came with rice and beans and about a 8th cup of shredded lettuce with a twirl of what looked like a piece of purple cabbage. Not sure if that was garnish or intended to go on the fajaitas. We both drank water. Then the 'free' chips with salsa. All said and done, not counting the tip, the meal was just under $42.
ORIGIONAL POST: date of visit wasnt recorded, therefore unknown.: Food was good. In fact was going to get a picture of one of the dishes but dived in and forgot till halfway through lol. Priced fairly. The background music was a poor choice. It was actually annoying. Service was fairly good. Nice waiter. Overall dining experience was good. Will...
Read moreMy wife called Mi Rancho on 23 Dec 2021 to find out what time they would be open until on Christmas Eve, we were told 8 pm.
I called again on 24 Dec 2021 to confirm and was told they would be open until 8 pm or may close at 7 pm if not busy. So ... my wife and I planned to have dinner at 6 pm, we arrived at 6:04 pm and were advised by staff that they were closed.
This restaurant needs to learn how to deliver on customer service, which includes being open when they say they would be open.
We heard good feedback on the food but telling customers your holiday hours then closing earlier is not acceptable, it was a big inconvenience to us.
We read the reviews on Google Maps, which, for the most part were positive, so, on 12 Jan 2023, my wife and I finally decided to dine at Mi Rancho. I ordered the Chicken Chimichanga, it was disappointing. I expected a Chimichanga to be filled with flavorful chicken, cheese, salsa, spices, and green onions inside, but instead, I got just shredded chicken, that was moistened with "I don't know what" and it had no flavor at all, it was very bland and the chicken tasted like it was straight out a can instead of being hand made. The refried beans also tasted like they were straight out of a can without any spices whatsoever and they did not have any flavor. The Chimichanga was topped with shredded lettuce, pickled onion, guacomole and aboit a tablespoon of sour cream and about a teaspoon of red sauce (at the most). The only positive about my meal, was the rice. The Chimichanga and refried beans ingredients both tasted like they were straight out of a can, I tasted nothing homemade about my meal.
My wife ordered the Rolled Tacos, she expected tacos that would be soft with ingredients Rolled up inside, instead, she received tacos with ingredients rolled up inside and the tacos were hard as if they had also been deep fried.
Our meals looked good, but my wife and I both felt like our food was just heated up, straight from a can without any additional preparation by an inexperienced cook. We expected more, our dining expetience was very...
Read moreI'm not sure how the food is, but the service was the worst. My wife and I decided to try them out for our date night Friday's and was seated fast, but that was it ? They NEVER came back and as I watched all the other tables that came in after us for about 10 to 20 minutes getting drinks even the manager was helping the server out by getting drinks and order taken by another waiters. As I watched the table around us get their drinks by the manager and he even walked by us 4 or more time's and then the waiter comes and took their order but still not even a hello ? I took in to mind maybe their short handed or something and didn't want to be inpatient so we waited đ¤ and waited and waited and still no one or even a welcome or we will be with you. Finally after watching all the tables that came in after us started getting their food that's when we got up and started to leave so I ask one of the waiters that I watched taking the drink order for the table of 4 behind us that came in after us was the manager as he told me. I told him of the problem of the lack of service ( NO SERVER ) and looked at me and said he would find out why and maybe their was a misunderstanding by the the servers who's table it was ? I told him I may understand that but yet I watched him welcome other tables and even get their drinks and walk pass our table many times with out even saying hello or welcome. The problem is I understand if maybe there was a misunderstanding but the manager should have seen this and stop by and say welcome and someone will be with us shortly. So we left and crossed the street to try The Crossing bar and grill and had some great service, drinks, and food so for us it turned out good. The food looked good at Mi Rancho but we was never given the chance to try it thanks to the lack of management. With a little retraining and some leadership this place may or may not be good next time. Management should be watching what's going on and notice any table lacking service or notice " why does that table still have menus on their table after 25...
