Burgers & Beer — Restaurant in Yuma

I've waited a year before writing a review of this place as I don't like writing bad reviews, particularly of restaurants. I've owned several businesses, and I know how much a negative review can hurt.

The food here is always the best. I've never had anything below par. The burgers, fries, wings, salads, etc. are always great!

However, the service is always the worst. I mean the worst. I worked for 14 plus years in the restaurant industry. I understand how important it is to train, train, train your staff. And even then, retrain. All of this makes for a better customer experience. I can assure you that these servers are not trained on how to provide a good customer experience, and that is management's fault.

The last time we were there, we waited 13 minutes before the server made her initial approach - the restaurant was moderately busy, but we watched our server have casual conversations with other employees three times before coming over. Then we waited twenty-eight (28) minutes from the time the server delivered the food until she came back to do her check-up after food delivery. At this point, I decided to call the manager over. She was very polite and semi-professional. She apologized and said that the server had just returned from a one-year leave of absence. I explained to the manager our disappointment with the current service and that we have consistently had poor service here. Again, she apologized. We politely explained to her that we would be taking our business elsewhere in the future.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this fantastic establishment, and I must say, it truly exceeded my expectations! The food was not only great, but the atmosphere was vibrant and inviting, making it the perfect spot to unwind after a long day. The ambiance had a charming blend of modern decor and cozy touches, which created a delightful setting for enjoying a meal.

While the prices are a bit on the higher side, it’s hard to find a place that isn’t these days, and I genuinely believe the quality justifies the cost. Each dish is crafted with care, showcasing fresh ingredients and bold flavors that truly elevate the dining experience.

I usually order the Patty Melt, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best in Yuma. The bread is perfectly toasted, providing a satisfying crunch, while the combination of juicy beef patty, melted cheese, and caramelized onions creates a mouthwatering harmony of flavors. It's a dish that never fails to impress, and I often find myself craving it long after my visit.

First off the food we had here was 5 stars. Where we ran into some minor issues had to do with the wait staff. My wife and I were drinking ice tea and took 5 plus minutes to get a refill even though we had put our empty glasses next to the edge of the table. I believe this was done to our waitress spending a fair amount of time visiting with a young lady at a table close to ours. She may have been a off duty employee as a number of other wait staff appear to know her also though their encounters were brief. The second issue was when my wife and I were sharing a desert. A young man walked up to the table and reached over us while we were getting a bite of the desert and grabbed the condiment tray that we had put next to the wall of our booth. He did this without saying a word. There was no excuse me, may I take the condiments away, or any other commits to let us know he wanted to take the condiments tray. Very rude.
