Yumas Friendly Tavern — Restaurant in Yuma

One of my favorite bars in town! My first choice on where to go! Been going there for 15 years, but it became my favorite just over 10 years ago after I got sick & for about a year I was in a wheelchair full time. I used to prefer a different place, but when I had to be carried into the bathroom because my wheelchair didn't fit through the bathroom door. My sister asked the owners of Friendly Tavern, Marvin & Cheryl Wright, if they would mind me playing on one of their bars' dart teams (since I was in the wheelchair) They said absolutely, they would love to have me! AND my wheelchair fit through the bathroom door! 😉 They have been so willing to accommodate me with anything I may need to make myself more comfortable. I've thrown several Dart Tournament Fund Raisers as well as 5 or 6 of my own birthday parties! Cheryl has even become a very dear close friend of mine! But despite my friendship with the owner, it's still my favorite hole-in-the-wall dive bar here in Yuma... and we're not without options for Dive Bars here! To me, the regulars that go in are kind of a second family. It feels comfortable there. Like you would think of walking into "Cheers" where everyone greets you when you walk in... If I had to describe it in one or 2 words, I would say... Friendly (lol) & Welcoming!! This a misleading rating, for a bar 3 stars is not bad. Any bar with a 5 star rating is probably fake. This place had awesome customer service and the drinks were delicious... But this place is so freaking small, there's only one pool table and it's in the corner, there's not a lot of room to use your pool cue. The Jenga pieces were kinda disgusting, I'm sure many drinks were spilled on them plus they are wood so not gonna be easy to clean without ruining them. I only gave the food a 4 cause I have not had thier pizza but we love the place! First found it 2 years ago while visiting Yuma and wanted to go to a Tavern. It didn't look like much from the outside but once you go in, its a great place to visit and drink a cold beer, wine or a cocktail. Bill, the owner is here most days at 5pm.
