This was the most astonishing experience I’ve ever had at an establishment. The service was fine at first, the host was welcoming and the server was friendly (at first). I ordered choriqueso for myself and my daughter and it was extremely bland but I wasn’t going to make a fuss. My fiancé decided to send it back because he didn’t like it either, it was completely flavorless. The “manager/owner” comes out and says that we have to pay half price for the item, my fiancé let him know we only had two bites and sent it back so that didn’t make sense. The “manager/owner” begins to get extremely hostile and rude with my fiancé and says we can pay for our drinks and leave which was fine because we were both shocked by how rude he was. The (previously nice) red headed waitress then comes back and says that we need to know what we want to eat next time and that the choriqueso tasted fine to her and that she has to pay for the items if they’re sent back. I’ve never heard of a restaurant having this policy, it’s crazy if they actually do, but then she continues berating us about the fact that we sent the item back and that she doesn’t care because she has the money to pay for it. She then tells us that our total is $40 for two margaritas. When I questioned her on how it became so much she got flustered and wasn’t able to continue the conversation. Another waiter came over and apologized for the experience and offered to compensate our drinks (which were actually $23) if we decided to stay for dinner. We did not. I’m not sure why or how the “manager/owner” thought it was a good idea to be so rude and indignant about us not wanting to pay $11 for food we didn’t eat to then later offer to compensate our ($23)...
Read moreEl Toro is hands down one of my favorite restaurants, and it’s easy to see why. The menu offers an incredible variety of options, and every dish I’ve tried has been absolutely delicious. Some of my top picks include the Boss Burrito and the Alambres—both are packed with flavor and will have you coming back for more.
But what really makes El Toro stand out is the staff. Many of the servers have been there for years – some even for 7-10 years – and it feels like they’re more like family than anything else. They go above and beyond to make you feel special and even bring my favorite drink to me before I’ve even had the chance to order it. The level of friendliness and attentiveness is unmatched, and it’s clear that they genuinely care about their customers.
My kids have literally grown up at El Toro. Two of them even worked there for a while while they were in school! Over the years, I’ve seen them treat me like a VIP, but if I had to pick one server who stands out, it would be Adela. She’s been a part of our lives for about 10 years now, and her warm welcome and genuine care for our family make every visit even more enjoyable.
The authentic Mexican food is amazing, and the atmosphere is welcoming and vibrant. Plus, the staff often helps me practice my Spanish – it’s such a wonderful experience all around.
If you’re looking for a fantastic dining experience, I highly recommend El Toro. It’s not just a place to eat; it’s a place where memories are made, and you’ll quickly see why it has become one of my...
