Old terrassa — Restaurant in Khiva

I spent 2 weeks in Uzbekistan, all over the country, eating both cheap and fancy food, and this was by far the best meal I had. It was so good that I went two nights in a row (I almost never repeat restaurants when I travel). The beef pelmini, achik chuchuk salad, and local plov were all so delicious that I ordered them both nights. The atmosphere is stunning--it's a PERFECT place to watch one of Khiva's breathtaking sunsets. The star of this place, however, is the service. My server, Mirzo, was one of the friendliest faces I encountered during my trip (which is saying something, because friendliness and hospitality are everywhere in Uzbekistan). He remembered me, my name, my nationality--as well as my entire order from the previous night--when I returned for round two. He was attentive, kind, and deserves high praise for his command of many different languages, his efficiency, and his welcoming spirit. Even moreso than the food (which is stellar), his attitude made me want to come back again. If I had had a third night in Khiva, I'd have come back here yet again, and I would have asked for Mirzo as my server. Cannot recommend this...

Had a great time at this restaurant! Ended up coming here 3 times because its just a really nice terrace (with amazing views and good amvience) to sit at and enjoy some food and/or some drinks.

Do understand that its quite expensive (tourist prices) but that the quality of the food/drinks is really good and the staff is super friendly.

I especially enjoy the cakes they have, the pistachio cheesecake is something I'd recommend getting! The local food, lunch options & cocktails are also great.

Definitely a place go check out, but be aware, the upper terrace can be completely booked out at night. So, make a reservation if you want to come for...
