Arxi Terrasa — Restaurant in Khiva

My wife and I came here for dinner. There was a strong smell of smoke and there was actually some ash from the kitchen landing on our plates as we waited. My juice came out within 5 minutes and my meal within 15 minutes. As it was cold out on the terrace, I started eating my meal and my wife took some of it too so I wasn't eating completely alone. The egg dumplings were good but the portion was small, so I ordered another portion. My pregnant wife, on the other hand, got her juice about 10 minutes after I had finished eating. About an hour after ordering, we inquired about her food, and they server apologized for the delay. 15 minutes later I asked how long it would take, and was told another hour. At this point we left, knowing we had some things back at the hotel to eat. As we were leaving, my second serving of egg dumplings arrived. So I got my second serving before she even got her first. We took it as takeaway for her to eat - she never did get the food she ordered.

UPDATE: seeing the reply below makes us even more concerned. We asked about the smoke as we were ordering and we were told it was just charcoal from the kitchen so we weren't too worried. However, if it was some unknown pollution from next door, that's a lot more concerning - what kind of toxins was my pregnant wife subject to at...

I had a wonderful time dining at Arxi Restaurant. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service was exceptional.
