ASADBEK LAZZAT — Restaurant in Samarkand City

Wanted to try shashlik and the price looked more transparent and reasonable than the popular restaurant next to it that also sells bbq meat. It was quite delicious (albeit quite oily) but the reason I’m giving 1 star is because of the very dishonest way they charge. The other reviews here speak the same, if I had seen I wouldn’t have stepped in. I ordered a chicken wing skewer (20,000), fish (25,000) and potato (15,000). That should amount to 60,000 right? No - when I asked for the bill the guy (prob the same one mentioned in other reviews) showed me his phone with a single number, 100,000. He thinks people were born yesterday lol. Questioned him for the breakdown, he took out his calculator and tabulated the prices, charging 20,000 for the potato and another 25,000 for the sauce which I obviously didn’t ask for, it was served with the skewers and I assumed it came with it. I told him I didn’t order the sauce, not gonna pay for it, then he changed tune and said it’s for service charge, 25%. I remembered the menu stating the charge as 15%, so I told him that. Then he reduced it to 20% lol, and quoted me 72,000. I asked for the menu to verify what I remembered, and after some time he came with the receipt where the Svc charge showed 15% and a bill of 69,000. POISONING!!!

We ordered some mantis among other stuff, and my girlfriend noticed something strange about the meat. I didn't think much of it, assuming it was just the strong flavour of the spices, but since almost all the food here is served that way, I ignored it.

We had just finished eating when they added a 20% service charge to the bill, and they only accepted cash. We went to get the rest of our money, and on top of that, they cheated us out of our change. This is the worst restaurant I have been to in my half year trip. When I order, the manager just care about the couple next my table.

Later, when the food came, they switched my food and the couple's, and the manager only apologized to the couple and not to me at all.

When bill, the manager sat in front of me with a very bad attitude and he charged me the price of the couple’ food that was given to me by mistake, which was twice the price of what I originally ordered.

No any apology no any thank you! The manager even shamelessly charged me the service fee.
