Have visited twice now. Large space on the ground level for festivals - shows a lot of promise. Second level is more for families or smaller social groups.
This is the third of the Anchor restaurants in Da Nang (#2 now closed), and they have taken the same model, same menu, same uniform, etc. to a larger and more prominent space.
If you’re looking for high quality beer and are health conscious of the effects of mass produced junk available at every other quan nhau (Huda, Tiger, Budweiser, etc.), this place offers better drinking alternatives.
Couple items of friction - cars cannot or perhaps will not stop on the side of the street where the restaurant is located. You will have to cross up to three lanes of traffic to get to the restaurant. (Neutral).
This possibly can be rectified with attentive staff who can stop and guide traffic to ensure the safety of the customers.
Restaurant has a very diverse beer list from Belgium and Germany. Most beers are in stock. Good diversity. Good quality. Good for any taste. Pricing is decent as well.
Food is a bit more difficult to talk about. Menu development still needs a lot of work. Currywurst texture wasn’t great. Cheese and meat plate was quite simple. This aspect of the restaurant has to be looked at, perhaps a trip to an adjacent country to an iconic bierhaus to see what works in Southeast Asia. (-1 point).
Overall great place. I’d like to invite friends for dinner but it looks like I can only invite them for beer.
Will I come back? Certainly. Absolutely! Great place for a drink with friends and I can feel fresh...
Read moreMy husband and I were craving something different for dinner so we decided on Anchor Bierhaus and Steak. Wow, it was exactly what we were looking for choices of steaks, pasta, charcuterie board’s, wines and breads. My husband ordered the German sausage and it was delicious with German beer- perfect combination. I ordered a red glass of wine, pasta and bread with Brie cheese, everything was fabulous!! Our servers were phenomenal and the restaurant is beautiful felt like we were in a sophisticated German/Tuscan Pub. There was live music that added to a wonderful experience! It was raining that evening so when we were leaving the sweetest older gentleman that works outside the restaurant grabbed an umbrella for us and escorted us to our Grab across the street!! Talk about Excellent Customer Service!! We will definitely return and...
Read moreThis place is extremely nice, plenty of staff, great beer selection. Certainly a more high end restaurant in the area with attention to detail. My low rating is from the food. I ordered the seared tuna, which came out medium well/well done, which is severely over done for that fish. For such a nice place to have attention to detail everywhere else and have the chef knowingly let that leave his door is surprising. I did point it out but they pointed out the one small pink spot saying that it was medium rare and that they will get me next time. I don’t like to be that guy arguing in a restaurant so let it go, but not sure why someone would come back next time after serving poorly cooked food the first. Beer was...
