Found this local restaurant at the second day in Danang for breakfast. It’s a gem in this busy town. All the customers are local, they are there to have a very quick breakfast.
Banh ram is a must try food! Chewy rice cake with the crispy one, a shrimp inside. Banh loc which has a shrimp and pork inside. Banh nam has minced meat on top of it. The texture of banh beo and banh nam are the same, something made of rice. Banh ram and banh loc are chewy which I more prefer this two.
I went there alone for two days and the lady boss let me try all these things for one person.
First day I had banh ram, a stick on the table wrap with the leave too and half of the banh beo cost me 35k.
Second day I had banh ram, banh loc and banh nam cost me 30k.
And she gave me cold tea and refilled for me always. The second day was the day I am going back, before head to the airport I had a chill time and breakfast over there. I looked at how they wrap the banh loc and they ask me to wrap it together! How friendly they are, I learnt it and it was really fun!
The shop is clean! MUST GO local restaurant...
Read moreI don't get the raving reviews. This place is horribly overrated and not worth it at all!! Try somewhere else. Service was dismissive and unfriendly and unhelpful. I just wanted to try the bahn beo but they brought out EVERYTHING else and put it on the table despite us saying no and pointing at the bahn beo. Everything was cold and the taste was exceptionally one dimensional. I couldn't believe how the reviews on here and my taste buds were so out of sync!! Tasted like no flavour gummibears. Tried one of everything, and left the rest on the table. Not worth the 50k we paid but we just wanted to leave. Super fail food experience. Tried bahn beo again in hoi an and hue where it lived up to my...
Read moreA local we met recommended this place so we tried it! Great place to try eating like a local, on the low tables and chairs by the roadside.
We ordered the Bánh bèo, Bánh nậm, Bánh lọc, and Bánh ram – different type of dumplings/sticky rice snacks. There’s a menu with photos that you can refer to and use to order, although there’s no price, but these four dishes will cost VND80,000.
The store was minded by three elders, and although there was a language barrier, they were very kind to teach us how to eat the different dishes, even peeling open the leaves for us to show us the food. We see more locals coming here, but even if you are a tourist, I would recommend giving this...
