We had ordered crawfish and it was great flavor. Plenty of garlic and sauce. We got 1.5kg crawfish to share between the three of us and added sausage. We over-ordered because we misunderstood. The menu says 6 pieces but it meant 6 sausage links. No problem, the owner was kind and gave us a box to bring the leftovers home.
We were given markers to draw on the paper which was fun. Throughout the entire lunch the owner was very attentive and kind.
This restaurant is located inside the alleyway, so it’s rare that the grab drivers in cars come in. Our grab driver could not find us. There were two people at the restaurant a woman and the man (owners of the restaurant). I had asked the woman if she could help give my grab driver the address as my Vietnamese is very limited. She kindly helped and spoke on the phone with the grab driver.
The grab driver still could not find us. The male owner came out and offered to call the grab driver again to help. The grab driver ended up cancelling.
The male owner then offered to take us back to our hotel, which was nearby. We were so appreciative. My little sister had heat sickness so we couldn’t walk home. We tried to give him money as a thank you (we’re Americans). He wouldn’t take it, so we left it in the car when stepping out so he couldn’t give it back.
As we were waiting for the elevator, he ran back in to give us back our money. 😭 the owners here are so kind, friendly and humble. We are truly so appreciative of what they’ve done for us, they went above and beyond. We wish them and their family...
Read moreA very pleasant surprise in a very unsuspecting location. Traveling to Vietnam (mostly danang) for work for a month at a time, we often miss food from home (California) and try to find similar tasting foods. We tried a trendy looking one in Saigon with promising reviews- but turns out it was mostly from locals who didn’t know what American Cajun/Asian-American Cajun tasted like.
We decided to give this place a try and it did not disappoint. On our first day trying- it was empty in the shop but since we had already made the drive we figured we would try just 1 item first and leave if it wasn’t good. BUT IT WAS GOOD! We ended up ordering 2 more combos and a bunch of corn on the cob, baguettes for dipping. The corn was so fresh and yummy!
DO get the snow crab. I regret that I decided to order the snow crab last, because I had no room to eat more. Definitely recommend their shrimp and snow crab. As for the sausage, it’s Vietnamese style sausage so if you’re used to the American sausage/hot dog- you may want to ask to sub the sausage for something else (that’s what we did all the visits after the first). Owner is super nice and...
Read moreI’m truly shocked how under hyped this place is. It was THE best seafood boil I’ve ever had in my 25 years of living.
We went between lunch/dinner so we were the only ones at the restaurant and got a whole fan to ourselves (da nang is hotttt so this is low key a luxury lol) we were given some markers to draw with to pass the time which was actually really smart since it did take a good bit but this distracted us from the time.
We got the level 1 spicy and we typically can do spicy, but this was definitely pushing it. If you have a low spice tolerance, I recommend level 0. The seasoning on this was CHEFS KISS. It was salty, garlicky and a bit sweet from the orange. We spent a little under 700,000 Dong (about $28).
It also came with some bread, which at first I was skeptical. But OMG. That bread, with the sauce… made me almost cry in tears.
If you’re in Da Nang and you only have time to go to one restaurant… make....
