Was recommended Olivia's by an Aussie fellow I met at my hotel. Probably the the best recommendation I have ever received. Olivia's is a steak house in Danang who's food and quality rivals the best steak houses in America. I am from Houston Texas, we have some of the best Steak houses is all of AMERICA. My fiancé and I both had the filet. She a 250 gram cooked medium, me a 350 gm done Med well. Oh my god, both came out perfect and cut like going through butter. Ordered bernaise and horseradish sauce just in case because a good sauce can help a bad steak but not even needed. Although both sauces were Excellent! Had fries and mushrooms also perfect. Ordered their bread basket which there was a small charge for that I did not mind, different than AMERICA where complementary but again they went above and beyond by serving wonderfully fresh bread with seasoned olive oil, a seasoned butter and unbelievable roasted garlic all 3 were to die for. In America you may get only one of these accompaniments and in all my years of eating at the best steak houses in America, never was I served roasted garlic. Amazing !! Not cheap by Vietnamese standards, but probably 50% cheaper than the same meal in Texas and 65 to 70% cheaper than New York for the same meal. Will definitely be back and would definitely recommend to anyone no matter what country or what part of the world you are from if you want an excellent and amazing steak. Our waitress spoke very good English was familiar with the menu to help make choices and wait staff were all courteous and on point. Let me not forget the delicious complementary home made chilled chocolate vodka shot...
Read moreAs someone who’s spent time in kitchens, I usually don’t write online reviews. I prefer to speak directly with owners and share feedback in person. But after coming to Olivia’s Prime 4–5 days a week, I felt it was time to write something publicly.
The food? When it hits, it hits. The garlic mashed potatoes are subtle and comforting. Burrata salad is fresh—though I’d love a bit more basil. The blue cheese burger is excellent. Crisp bun, juicy center, great texture.
Chicken thighs, when seasoned right, are incredible. Crispy skin, tender meat—especially with mashed potatoes and mushroom sauce. But consistency is the issue. When the executive chef is around, everything works. When he’s not, things slip—especially seasoning. Salt is on the table, but it’s too coarse to fix a dish that needed love during prep.
The chicken sausage (brought in) is tasty. But the house-made sausage? Needs work. Apple turnover with vanilla ice cream is a great finish—raisin touch is lovely.
The service? The staff is kind, professional, and attentive. But the issue is loyalty.
I came in on a quiet day. My usual table was held for a reservation that never showed. I was fine being moved. But when I tried to explain that loyal guests matter—not more than others, just differently—I wasn’t heard. I was left. My food was half-finished. So I left too.
Final verdict: 4 stars. A great restaurant with real potential. But until they learn the difference between loyalty and potential, they’ll keep missing the thing that turns good places...
Read moreIt was a toss up between Olivia’s steak house and another local one, both had good reviews. We took the plunge earlier in our holiday and visited the opposition. The gauntlet was laid down as the food was excellent there. We just had to see if Olivia’s could match them or exceed our expectations. Not paso le O thought as I’d been impressed and I’m a little fussy and hard to please. Okay I confess im difficult. As we arrived we received a hearth and genuine welcome. O felt strange as we hadn’t sat down yet but I felt comfortable already. The ambiance was cosy, the Australia. Red wine we chose went down easily and well. The Carpaccio starter tantalised the taste buds and even our 12 and 15 year old daughters enjoyed it. The garlic ma h, cream spinach and potato gratin were fine accompaniments to the fillet and rib eye steaks we had ordered. We were ready for the main event . Each steak was cooked perfectly to the temperature which each of us had requested.
The cheesecake was a little too rich but great tasting and my mango sorbet got demolished swiftly. The pecan and chocolate brownie saw all the part beaming with satisfaction. The bill would be the final arbiter as to weather the evening would end as well as it had started and evolved so far. It arrived, I peeped, saw and smiled again Paid with a grin and left having had a fantastic meal out with my family, and a happy bank balance. my a great host and a satisfied family.
