Absolute gem, perfect escape from the busy bustling young city of Da Nang. This isn't your typical Vietnamese coffee experience and that's all the more reason to pay a visit to this cafe.
Decor and atmosphere is industrial minimalist jungle with glass walls floor to ceiling welcoming the light in all angles and breeze from the seaside Da Nang. It's surrounded by a pond of happy Koi fishes in the perimeter and various tropical fish plants all around, both elegant and serene.
The baristas and kitchen staff wear this overalls/jumpsuit looking uniforms which I am in envy of. I hope they sold merch because I would buy them in a heartbeat.
Everyone we encountered was polite and happy to answer our questions.
They also accept cash and cards, really convenient if you're just visiting the area.
They have a selection of specialty single origin coffee beans with suggested preparations mainly on the medium to light roasts.
I got a geisha filter which was prepared and brewed perfectly. The barista showed us each step as he went along which made me totally nerd out. They served the coffee in a chemistry beaker and their still water also comes in this chemistry lab jar. Their water was so smooth and palatable-not a surprise they have quality water to use with their drinks.
The place was clean and pristine when we went and the fact they're open and ready to serve drinks so early is a plus too.
We got a cardamon sourdough bun which was buttery and fragrant, a delight nonetheless.
I would recommend this cafe for someone who appreciates and is interested in learning more about coffee and process of putting this fruit/berry into a consumable and enjoyable liquid that is an experience in itself not just a necessity.
The price is justified for the ethos of their cafe service and the professionals and farmers and distributors that make coffee industry sustainable and ethical from farmers...
Read moreFrom the moment I stepped inside, I was impressed by the sleek, modern design of the space. The minimalist decor, combined with ample natural light and comfortable seating, creates a perfect environment for both relaxing and working. The open-concept layout allows you to watch the baristas skillfully prepare each cup, highlighting their dedication to the craft.
The coffee menu at XLIII Specialty Coffee is extensive and features a wide range of single-origin beans sourced from various parts of the world. I opted for a pour-over, and the barista took the time to explain the origins of the beans, the brewing process, and the flavor profile I could expect. The result was a beautifully balanced cup with intricate flavors that showcased the quality of the beans and the expertise of the barista.
In addition to their excellent coffee, they also offer a selection of pastries and light bites that perfectly complement their beverages. I tried a croissant, which was fresh, flaky, and delicious.
The service was outstanding, with friendly and knowledgeable staff who were more than willing to answer questions and provide recommendations. Their passion for coffee was evident in every interaction, making the visit even more enjoyable.
The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, making it a great spot to catch up with friends, get some work done, or simply enjoy a quiet moment with a great cup of coffee. The outdoor seating area is also a nice touch, allowing you to enjoy your coffee in...
Read moreI had such an immersive experience at the XLIII Speciality Coffee shop. If you are a single origin enthusiastic then this is the place to go.
The space and ambience were perfect, spacious, comfortable, and well designed for working off a laptop, hosting collaborations or events. There's a nice chill feel to the space.
The staff really make the place happen. They are such a lovely, friendly, and knowledgeable bunch. The kindness in their personalities and the care for their craft really shines through when you watch them at work and they engage you in conversation. I had a lovely time getting to know a few of them and letting them impact their experience and wisdom.
I tried three of their coffees and had a nice chicken salad. All the brews were very unique with very different characteristics. Most coffees don't live up to the descriptions shared by the roasters, but not on this case they nailed it, and you can really enjoy observing the tastes change as the temperature gradually drops following their notes.
They're definitely the real deal from sourcing, to masterfully roasting and brewing the coffee to the staff educating and sharing it's story with the customers.
Okay I obviously completely geeked at this joint, and it's just the perfect place to do so if you're into your coffee.
Well done to the XLIII Speciality Coffee team, you're doing a fantastic job and everything right. Thanks for the great service and wishing you continued growth...
