Nestled on the serene edge of Xuân Hương Lake, Thủy Tạ is one of Đà Lạt’s most iconic and picturesque cafes. With its distinctive white architecture, large windows, and reflection dancing on the water, this spot offers both a nostalgic charm and a tranquil escape from the city’s bustle.
Stepping inside, you’re greeted by a vintage yet cozy atmosphere. The interior is simple, almost minimalist, but it carries a certain elegance that suits the calmness of the lake. It’s the kind of place where time seems to slow down—perfect for sipping a hot Vietnamese coffee or enjoying a light breakfast as morning mist curls over the water.
The drinks menu is fairly standard—coffee, tea, fruit juices—but the real appeal here is not innovation, it’s ambience. Sitting by the large windows or outside on the terrace, you get a panoramic view of the lake and the pine-covered hills beyond. If you’re lucky, you’ll catch one of Đà Lạt’s famous golden sunsets shimmering on the surface of the water.
Service is friendly, though sometimes a bit slow, especially during busy hours. Prices are slightly higher than your average street cafe, but that’s expected for a place with such prime location and history—it was originally built during the French colonial era and still retains that European lake-house vibe.
Overall, Thủy Tạ isn’t just a place to grab a drink—it’s a piece of Đà Lạt’s soul. Whether you’re a romantic, a photographer, or just someone looking for peace, it’s worth visiting...
Read moreThuy Ta Restaurant enjoys one of the best locations in the city, right by the lake with beautiful views and a relaxing atmosphere. It’s an ideal place to sit back, enjoy the breeze, and watch the world go by—especially in the late afternoon or early evening.
The staff was polite and the service fairly quick. The decor feels classic, with a touch of elegance that makes it a nice spot for dates or casual meetups. However, despite the promising setting, the drinks didn’t quite live up to expectations.
We tried a few options from the drink menu, and overall, they were just so-so. Nothing was particularly bad, but nothing stood out either. The flavors felt a bit watered down or generic, and it seemed like presentation was prioritized over taste. If you’re hoping for a memorable coffee, smoothie, or cocktail experience, this might not be the place.
That said, Thuy Ta could still be worth a visit if you’re more interested in the view and a quiet atmosphere rather than the quality of the drinks. With some improvement on the beverage side, it could...
Read moreThe prices displayed on the menu at the entrance are not the same as the menu offered at the table, We wanted to take our time ordering and looking at the menu but we were spied on from the start. When we ordered and were served, a person cut us off while we were quietly drinking our drink and jumped on us to pay even though we wanted to order dishes after our aperitif. As if we were thieves and were going to run away. When we wanted to pay by card the waiter went to make the withdrawal in a separate room without us being able to see what amount he charged us. This is unacceptable for a so-called “quality” restaurant. The service is deplorable and needs to be reviewed, we don't behave like that with customers and we don't treat them as thieves when they have barely ordered their drinks and not had time...
