Our stay at Lumina Hotel in Da Lat was disappointing. The hotel is dishonest, and downright disgusting. Here’s why you should avoid this hotel: 1. Unreasonable Charges: They charged us 100,000 VND for a lost plastic key card—an outrageous fee for something so inexpensive to replace. 2. Shady Practices: They tried to charge us for a supposedly "dirty towel," claiming it couldn’t be cleaned. When we asked to see the towel, they backed down, proving the claim was baseless and dishonest. 3. Hygiene Issues: Mold was visibly growing in the hallway, which is both unhygienic and hazardous to health. (Picture attached) 4. Terrible Room Design: None of the standard rooms have exterior windows. Instead, the only window opens to the hallway, letting in plenty of light but offering zero privacy. (Picture attached) 5. Unbearable Noise: The hallway and rooms are poorly designed with hard surfaces and low ceilings, turning the entire area into an echo chamber where every sound carries. This makes it impossible to have a quiet stay. (Picture attached) 6. Lack of Hot Water: Showers were often lukewarm at best. In Da Lat’s cooler climate, this was extremely inconvenient. In summary, the Lumina Hotel fails on every level: cleanliness, honesty, and comfort. With better options available in Da Lat, I strongly urge travelers to book elsewhere. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had.

I truly regret booking a room at Lumina Hotel Da Lat Central. The room I was given had no windows, no air ventilation, and no air conditioning. It felt completely sealed and unsafe. Because of this, I was forced to book another room at a nearby hotel the very same day. What shocked me even more is that, despite the unacceptable conditions, the hotel staff later demanded 240,000 VND as a late checkout fee — even though they had verbally approved the late checkout earlier. Two of the male front desk staff behaved with extreme rudeness and unnecessary hostility, making no effort to explain the situation calmly. Their language and tone were completely unprofessional and made the entire experience even more stressful. Only one female staff member eventually stepped in to help and handled things more respectfully. Overall, this was a very unpleasant experience, and I do not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for basic hospitality, respect, or safety.

*Don’t book the standard rooms* The premium rooms might be better than the standard, but stay far away from the standard rooms which are all in the basement and have no window to the outside, just the hallway and No AC. I booked 2 nights with my girlfriend and only made it one night before we both couldn’t take it anymore. Because the rooms are in the basement, anytime you take a hot shower the walls in the room become wet with condensation and get super stuffy, can’t open a window because the window is only out to the hallway so no privacy if you open a window with people walking by to get to their rooms. The rooms are incredibly small and my gf and I were having to squeeze by each other to go to the bathroom or stand up. The location is excellent but the basement rooms really ruined our mood for the vacation. Stay away from the basement rooms!!!!

I had one of the most disturbing experiences of my life at Lumina Hotel Da Lat Central.||||The room I was given had no windows, no ventilation, and no air conditioning. It felt like a sealed box with no fresh air — completely unlivable. I was forced to book another hotel nearby the same day just to breathe and sleep safely.||||But what happened next was even worse. Despite knowing the room was uninhabitable, the hotel demanded 240,000 VND as a late checkout fee. I had been told earlier that the late checkout was okay, and I had already left the room to stay elsewhere!||||The two male front desk staff treated me with extreme hostility, refused to greet or speak respectfully, and blocked me from leaving the hotel until I paid. This is not just bad service — it’s detention, intimidation, and harassment.||||Only one female staff member later stepped in and tried to fix the situation by processing the payment politely. But the damage was done.||||I’ve submitted complaints to the Vietnam National Tourism Authority, Agoda, and Google Maps, and I am currently preparing to escalate to my embassy.||||Do not book this hotel. If something goes wrong, you may be trapped with no...
