Fairly complex ordering process, involves getting to understand the offering (one type of protein or two) and then having to scribble down your thoughts on a piece of paper (choice of protein, sauce, salad vs. fries ratio).
Basically, you should be some sort of academic if you want to order the food here, but as an academic, you probably wouldn’t eat here.
In terms of nomenclature, I would not call this Fine Street BBQ, nothing served on top of salad and fries in a paper plate could be classified as “fine.”
Food experience: Ordered the pork belly, which was OK, their signature secret sauce was a bit too herbal for my taste, and well known BBQ sauces were not an available option, and I was definitely expecting something different. Something tangy that can cut through the fat and reveal the best parts of the style of cooking. The lack of clarity on the matter made for some disappointment.
After ordering, I also found out they had a couple premium types of meat on another menu card - iberico and wagyu but I’m glad I didn’t call for this on my first visit. Is it worth it?
Overall, I was able to put some food in my stomach, but nothing to write home about and petty low level of satiety. I almost felt like my time was wasted and my food selection would have better been spent elsewhere.
Would I come back? Given the plethora of choices in the local area,...
Read moreI got the single meal option- medium lamb with chinichurri sauce, 50/50 fries and salad, a glass of the house red, a side of grilled veggies, and finished it off with the chocolate mouse. I Also ordered an extra chimichurri as MOST places I've been give you a tiny bit. A single serving of the sauce was way more than enough and was absolutely delicious- my friend preferred it to her red wine sauce. I have a pretty big appetite for a 5'3" fit lady and the main meal was PLENTY. I was stuffed, and I didn't even get to my grilled veggies, so I took it to go. I'm not sure what occasion would warrant me getting the "starving" portion (I believe it was called that)- maybe after hours of intensive exercise and no breakfast or lunch🤣. I have no complaints. Everything was delicious, of great quality, and with a clean presentation and excellent service. It's def going to be a go-to...
Read moreThis is a great little spot that is both romantic and casual! Just really good vibes, especially on the patio (bug spray is provided). I had the beef with 50/50 cheddar fries and salad with the special sauce and it was really good! Size was “hungry” and if the beef didn’t do the job the fries and salad did. I ordered the beef medium when I think it would be tastier medium rare but that was my choice. Definitely worth the 25k to add cheddar to the fries! The service was great - Tai was friendly, helpful and smiley, he explained the menu, he has great English and was easy to make recommendations. The rest of the staff seemed really happy and smiley too which made the experience! This feels like a great date spot or place to go with a group...
