I'm not sure if it's nice or not. The restaurant was located in a busy road of Tay Ho district. They have a place in front of the restaurant to park scooters and that was very nice unlike other restaurants with limited parking places. The restaurant was decorated with moose and kangaroo style and it was the mix of restaurant and bar so it was quite noisy but nice. When I was there, it was the middle of a rugby game and my first thought was that it was so Australian style. Everything was quite expensive. I had a sandwich with long hour cooked pork but instead of bringing me a sandwich, they brought me a hamburger, pork was cooked but they put too much cinnamon in it so it killed all the taste and everything just smelled like cinnamon and I promised that it was not nice at all. We had 2 tequila shots and beer. Tequila shot looked kind of weird with salt and lime served separately. I had Blue ribbons beer which was a kind a very light beer and it was cool. The staff was nice but I didn't like the way they talked behind my back about me and my boyfriend splitted the bill, maybe they thought that I didn't speak any Vietnamese so they can say whatever they wanted in Vietnamese....
Read moreI came for the Sunday roast, and my roast turned up with three Yorkshire puddings! Whoever heard that 3 are necessary or desirable! One is more than enough.
The roast lamb, was cut too thick (making it taste tougher), it was gristly piece of meat, and it would have been good to have had a butcher's knife to cut it. It certainly was not the wagyu of sheep, tasted more like a tough old male wether, bred for wool production, not eating...
I usually love a baked spud, these potatoes were not properly baked. They looked like they were cooked and finished in a fryer, and the carrots were under cooked.
I think the expat owners are taking a well earned rest, taking Sunday's off, it's obvious very little training or kitchen oversight is happening, on a Sunday!
I think I need to use my Sundays for a well earned rest in Hanoi as well, and forget about the...
Read moreGreat spot for a bite to eat as well as great cocktails. Owned by a Canadian and an Australian (hence the name). Food options lean heavily Western and beef-oriented but they have very respef ctable Vietnamese food I'm told. Cash, credit cards and probably e-wallet payments accepted. Good AC!
Their New York Sour was very delicious and was foamier with a shaken egg white. The Aperol Spritz was well-balanced and highly refreshing - as it's supposed to be! Their house burger was flavorful although I asked for it medium rare and it was more medium or even medium well. Served with very crispy and skinny french fries. Had to get an extra side order to share with friends, they were so good! Fish (salmon) tacos were also respectable.
First and second floor seating. Busy during the dinner rush hour and...
