Hanoi 1930 Bistro is one of those places that immediately catches your attention thanks to its prime location right on Trang Tien Street, just a few steps away from Hoan Kiem Lake and the Opera House. The restaurant has a stylish yet cozy atmosphere, combining a touch of Hanoi’s old charm with modern interior design. Whether you sit inside under the warm yellow lights or outside on the balcony overlooking the busy street, you can really feel the unique vibe of the city.
The menu is quite diverse, offering both Vietnamese classics and Western-style dishes. I personally recommend trying the egg coffee – it is rich, creamy, and one of the best I’ve had in Hanoi. Among the food, the Vietnamese dishes like spring rolls, pho cuon, and grilled pork stood out more than the Western options. The beefsteak was good but not outstanding; however, the presentation of every dish was neat and elegant.
Service here is another highlight. The staff are attentive, polite, and many of them speak good English, which makes the experience easy and pleasant for foreign guests. Even when the restaurant was busy during dinner time, the service was still efficient and friendly.
Price-wise, Hanoi 1930 Bistro is definitely on the higher side compared to local eateries. On average, you can expect to spend around 200,000 – 350,000 VND per person, depending on what you order. That said, considering the location, ambiance, food quality, and service, I think it is still reasonable. It’s more of a place for a special occasion, a date night, or to take friends/clients, rather than a casual everyday meal.
Overall, Hanoi 1930 Bistro offers a great balance between food, service, and atmosphere. It’s not just about eating, but about experiencing Hanoi in a stylish and memorable way. If you’re looking for a spot to enjoy authentic Vietnamese flavors in a beautiful setting right in the heart of the city, this is a place...
Read moreAs a coffee enthusiast and frequent traveler, I’ve tried several egg coffees across the city—but this one stands out by far as the most flavorful and perfectly balanced. The texture was incredibly smooth, and the richness of the egg foam combined with the bold coffee base created a truly unique experience. A must-try for anyone visiting!
My wife had the Coconut Iced Coffee, which was also excellent—light, refreshing, and not overly sweet. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to take a photo of it, but I would definitely recommend it as well.
📍 The café is located in a clean, safe, and charming neighborhood, which makes it an even better place to enjoy your coffee. Compared to other districts we’ve explored, this area felt more relaxed and well-maintained.
☕️ The shop itself is well-kept, modern yet cozy, and the terrace offers a lovely view of the street—perfect for people-watching or enjoying a quiet break. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the overall atmosphere was calm and inviting.
✅ All in all, this place checks every box: exceptional coffee, friendly service, great ambiance, and a wonderful location. Highly recommended—will definitely come back!

Read moreI was walking around the area, it was hot and I wanted to get a cold drink and sit down to cool off for a little bit before keep going. The highlands cafe was nearby but packed. I saw this place and they have a menu at the door. After a quick glance at the menu, I decided to give it a chance and I’m glad I did. It was early in the afternoon and they didn’t have many customers at the time. I was able to get a nice table by the window on the second floor. Service was excellent! I didn’t try their famous egg coffee but order a tea. My husband got another tea and they both were decent. I LOVE the decorations and the atmosphere of the place. The price for the non-alcohol drinks are very competitive (compared to the cafe nearby). It was almost perfect until they play some cheesy Vietnamese love songs. The music was too loud at some point, also that music does not fit with the atmosphere of the place - personal preference. I’m just too picky about music I guess. Another small detail that they can do better: I went to the bathroom and when I wanted to wash my hands, there was no soap. I’m giving 4 stars for this visit. I will definitely come back to try the egg coffee and their food and maybe I will update this...
