THE BEST BEEF WELLINGTON IN HANOI!
I think RICO South American Steak House offers the best beef wellington in Hanoi because of the perfect, i.e. flakey, flavorfull pastry and the mixture of herbs and spices coating the beef tenderloin. We also ordered lamb chops and they were worthy of going back for as well. The menu is pretty well balances with some fine salad offerings. I ordered the turnip/bacon soup and it was very good, although if I didn’t know it, I would have thought it was a potato soup – but it was excellent nonetheless and I look forward to ordering that again too. However, they will bring unasked for bread to the table and charge you for it later (I was forewarned and refused it) but they will also ask what sauce you would like, naturally implying that it comes with the steak (as it does in any Western steakhouse anywhere else on the planet) but will nail you 60K each on the bill. Unfortunately for the waitress, it got deducted from her tip. Hence, the one star deduction. Nobody likes being nickel and dimed, it is just poor taste. Staff also seemed to have very limited English skills, so speak slowly, carefully, and in...
