After visiting the world famous Marriot buffet my girlfriend and I decided to try this place out. This restaurant is often recommended by locals and does have a bit of upper class vibe to the place. So after visiting this place I have compiled a short pros and cons list comparing the Maison to the Marriot: - Who has more seafood offerings? 🏆Maison (the grilled shellfish are a delight) - Which restaurant has a birthday service where you get to meet not 1 but 2 of your favorite minions? 🏆Maison - Which restaurant actually helps you learn Vietnamese by labeling all the food only in Vietnamese? 🏆Maison - Which restaurant offers a hot pot option? 🏆 Maison - Which restaurant has a dedicated local Vietnamese cuisine food bar? 🏆 Maison All in all after visiting both buffets in Vietnam you could say I am a bit biased that I feel the price of Maison and their seafood selection is simply unbeatable (did I mention the grilled shellfish were a delight?). How would I score the Maison? 4 dancing minions out of 5. I would have given them 5 but sadly the minions didn’t dance at my table.

A large selection of Vietnamese and international dishes. 398,000 VND + drinks are extra (29,000 for a coke) + VAT This was by far the most expensive meal I had while in Vietnam, but I think it was worth it for the selection. Seafood, meats, sushi, hotpot. I especially enjoyed their dessert section and Chè bar. The ice cream was not good though, very icy :( Be sure to make a reservation, which can be done by messaging them on Facebook, as they get very busy. One thing to note is that it seemed to be a popular place for children’s birthday celebrations. Multiple times they brought out a large minion costume and sang happy birthday, and there were kids running around. I would imagine during the weekend it’s even busier, as I had gone on a weekday. The staff were nice. It was raining on the evening I went, and there was staff waiting outside the building to walk you from your vehicle to the entrance and shield you from the rain, which I thought was a nice touch.

This was the worst buffet I have ever tried. I found a piece of plastic in my ice cream (see photo attached below). Kids were rolling around on the floor everywhere and screaming while other groups were yelling and drunk at 8pm on a Thursday night. The service was moderate though and the staff were observant. The steak and lamb were so bland even if it was already dunked in peppercorn sauce. Seafood was mediocre at best. People who were dining scooped fruit with their bare hands to their plate. Overall it was a 2/10 experience. The interior of the place looks nice but this is not a place to eat and talk because of how loud the place was. My family and I felt disappointed since Maison Sen is rated as one of the best buffets in Hanoi. The experience does not justify the price. You’re better off looking for another restaurant that you can enjoy for the same price.

Easy to find with Google maps. Had to make a reservation in person since I cannot make a phone call to viet phone number. Table for two, we were sat in the front by the door. (Not the best seats, but I was just happy to get a seat). Food selection is beyond, lots to choose from. Taste was amazing, I enjoyed the sashimi very much. Desserts were mid af, I would only recommend the lemon custard or ice cream(which you could get anywhere). Atmosphere is chaotic, lots of people shoving for crab even when their plates are already full. It’s kind of like Black Friday shopping. You need to be a little aggressive to get what you want. Luckily staff was quick to replace foods that ran out. Bigger parties included children screaming and running around. Not the vibes, but it is what it is. Overall, I’d eat again. Worth the price and the staff and so kind.

Soooo full! Lovely food. Almost all the seafood was nice. I especially liked the prawns, crab, oysters, and sashimi. The herring was surprisingly sweet and crunchy with the texture of the roe. And all the sashimi laid on their own bed of shiso leaves, which made it extra lush. The desert were great too. My surprise favourite went to the yogurt pot with a side of fermented sticky black rice, which added a touch of booze and acidity to pair with the creamy yogurt. All the pastries were nice. There’s hot pot too, which we didn’t have room for. The decor is something special and provided amazing ambiance. Would’ve loved for the staff to smile a little more and speak a little more English, but I’m not complaining. Overall, a great 5* experience. About $400k dong pp. + drinks for weekday lunch (11:15-13:30). Come early. accept credit cards.

The place is luxurious and has a french bistro Vibe. Maison Sen is well known place in Hanoi, looking at the number of guest in a weekday. However, the food is absolutely underwhelming. Sashimi is not fresh Fried chicken looks like an uncooked oil, Fries straight from a frozen bag. Ice cream is a mix of sugar and water. Fortunately, the vietnam corner with the seafood is okay. I would recommend to pay more to have access to better ingredient. Maison Sen has completely downgraded from what it used to be
