Pleasant restaurant in a major ex-pat section of Hanoi. Menu features an array of dishes with Italian and Mediterranean influences. Service is good and a lot of English is spoken here. Cash, credit card and probably e-wallet payments accepted. Food is average.
Portions here are quite generous. Cauliflower Fritters appetizer was curiuos - almost like cauliflower matza balls in both flavor and consistency. The pork bits appetizer is crispy pieces of pork belly - also tasty (because, pork!).
Spicy Italian Sausage pasta dish was generous portion and not at all skimpy on the sausage, although the flavor as a whole was average. The Moroccan Lamb Salad really wasn't a salad, rather chunks of tasty but slightly tough/overcooked lamb served with a side of lettuce and a rice salad, all over a piece of flat bread smeared with what was a mixture of red pepper hummus and yoghurt (I think). The flavors were fine but it really wasn't a salad, more of a lamb entree and much heavier overall than anticipated.
They have a full range of beverages from juices/coffee/teas/sodas to beer, wine and cocktails. Their take on the Moscow Mule was refreshing, as was their Aperol Spritz, though the Spritz could have been a bit bubblier.
Pleasant, bright interior with lots of natural light. Staff is friendly and service was relatively quick even with a larger group. English is spoken pretty easily here. Not a bad spot but the food was just average, particularly in an area with a lot of Western-oriented restaurants. Stop in and see for...
Read moreI was really looking forward to dining at Rosas, but the experience was disappointing. We ordered the lamb kofta skewers as an appetizer, but they arrived undercooked and inedible. While the staff offered to cook them again, the skewers only came out after we had finished our main course, making it awkward to eat an appetizer after the meal.
Additionally, I ordered the steak sandwich, and my wife ordered the Moroccan chicken, but both dishes came out as wraps, which was confusing. The menu was misleading, as I was expecting a sandwich on bread, not a wrap. If I had known it wasn’t an actual sandwich, I would have ordered something else. To make things worse, my wife found a hair in her Moroccan chicken.
Everything we ordered was also lacking in salt. We had the garlic rosemary roast potatoes, which tasted more like boiled potatoes with just a hint of garlic. Our waitress did mention that there’s a new staff member, possibly in the kitchen, which could be the cause of the issues. But if that’s the case, the restaurant needs to find a better chef, or the new chef needs to improve.
For a restaurant that isn’t the cheapest in the area, having such basic things lacking in quality was a real disappointment. While the staff tried to address the undercooked skewers, the overall experience left us feeling disappointed. I hope the restaurant works on improving its food preparation, seasoning, and...
Read moreStay away from this restaurant.. Its not professional managed and you will end up waiting long time for your food.. The manager/owner is sitting in the middle of the restaurant, smokes inside and doesn't care what is happening or about his customers.. We ordered simple dishes and they needed 1:30 hours to deliver to our table.. No apology No free drink Nothing.. Not Even some bread slices for the hungry guests.. The customers behind us placed order after us and received the food first.. They also got free drinks and an apology, While we were completely forgotten.. The food itself was average and some were really bad.. Like the schnitzel which was super chewy.. The kefte was not great.. Very gamy.. And just one tiny little flat bread that was cut into three tiny little pieces for the kefte.. Ridiculous.. Overall it's just a disappointment And far from a professional restaurant.. Instead of offering Italian, Turkish, Austrian, Spanish etc dishes Maybe focus on one theme And learn how...
