The Butterman Bakery — Restaurant in Hà Nội

There have been many good reviews on this bakery but I don’t feel there is that much to it. The atmosphere is so-so, their decorations are okay: their bakes are set on a table and the behind looks like a normal home kitchen. There is not much space between the dining tables for guests and the cashier so its always look tight and narrow

The service is okay, I don’t really interact much with them so I can’t tell much, except the fact that when I want to order their sodas, they said that amateurs shouldn’t order it because it wont taste familiar to the taste and since they insist about it, I order something else

So to say the drink was okay but the main dish-the bakes, I ordered one cookie and it was so mushy and dry, it was horrible. The other bake I ordered was oily and I can’t feel the taste aside from oil. I was disappointed

I think you should just order drinks when you are here, or the bakes were supposed to go with a drink I don’t...

They used to be in a different location not far from Elegant Suites I went there a few times and didn’t really like it. Visited the new place and, unfortunately, feel the same.

First of all, the design is very cute and the place itself is pleasant to sit in. But if you’re looking for a relaxing coffee experience, this might not be it there are people taking photos almost constantly.

Now, the most important part: coffee and food. The coffee is average at best, and the food is just not tasty. The cakes look good but taste quite plain. The canelé has nothing to do with the original it’s soggy and not crispy. The madeleines were okay, I guess?

As for the staff, they’ve been pretty unenthusiastic. The first time I went, both girls were in the back and I literally had to yell for someone to come out and take my order. I’ve been three times and won’t be...

Overall, the atmosphere is fine. The audience this bakery attracts seems to be very respectful. However, the staffs are not. The customer service I was offered was horrible, and all I did was asking a simple question regarding alternatives of an ingredient in their drinks. They could have answered me politely, but I received an attitude instead. Drinks and pastries are okay, though they would be more suitable for people who love a sweeter note on their desserts. Would love to visit again if it wasn't because of the treatment I got, so hopefully they can do better and start treating their customers...
