The Drunken Duck — Restaurant in Hà Nội

I regret not reading the individual reviews more thoroughly before being swayed by the average rating of this restaurant. Unfortunately, the numerous 1-star reviews proved to be accurate. Despite its excellent location, the entire experience was marred by awful service. From the moment I called to make a reservation until I paid the bill, it was a series of disappointments. The staff member on the phone insisted on a pre-order, yet was unresponsive when I sent my choices via Zalo, and repeated calls went unanswered. It was peculiar that other visitors could order at the table, while we were required to pre-order. Indeed, the restaurant lacks a physical menu. The service was further impaired by a rude waiter who consistently forgot our orders. I even had to request basic cutlery to eat. The dim lighting of the venue didn’t help either. I'm a local, and I have had a bad experience here. The staff's service attitude is terrible. On a Friday night, their kitchen only had 3 people (including waiters). Even though there were no guests, the food came out very slowly. And they said: "Their restaurant is overloaded" mtf I seet in 8h30 to 10h and see no guest how they overloaded? When I ordered a sour and salty cocktail, instead of asking for my opinion on how much sour and salty I wanted. The waiter just stood there and acted like I didn't understand by showing that he knew more than me. Like my choice very stupid. The food is okay but the drinks are terrible. Wanted 2 try this place whilst staying at Intercontinental opposite. Can understand some of the poorer reviews but found this a really cool place - if a little dark, but part of the charm. The wine choices are excellent. The menu was shown to me on the phone and I simply took a picture. Difficult 2 choose from so much nice stuff.. they didn't have the pan fried duck so I went for the Russian pork - very tasty. Burrato salad a little strange on fruit but hey ho.. the oysters were super fresh and tasty. Loved it all and will be back to try the roast...
