My husband and I attempted to make a reservation 3 times, several days in advance. There was never a response nor email stating that our reservation had been booked or declined. When we arrived at the restaurant at our reservation time, we informed the hostess (which we believe was the manager) about our confusion. She said they received the request but were too busy to respond (again, we made 2 reservations several days before because we thought we did something wrong... then made a 3rd reservation the day before). We didn't appreciate this response. She then informed us that we could be seated but had to leave by a certain time because they had another reservation. We were at the restaurant at 5:30 pm and the restaurant was empty except 1 other table. The next reservation She mentioned wasn't until 7:30.
We were seated outside but requested to sit indoors, as it was chilly. She said she couldn't change our seats because there was a reservation indoors for 7 pm. (Again... it was 5:30) and that we would have to leave before then.
The serving staff was friendly and took care of us.
Food - we ordered a shrimp bisque and croquettes for starters. The bisque was overall good. The croquettes, however, tasted like they were pre-made or bagged. It was not our favorite.
We ordered 3 steaks (roughly 850 grams). The hot plate the steaks were placed on probably lasted about 5 mins, so the steaks were cold by the time we got to finish enjoying them. The request for the temperature on the steaks was medium, but the Japanese oyster blade wagyu was more on the rare side. The pichana was good. Well seasoned. The Australian ribeye MB7 was our favorite. It was cooked perfectly and had a great flavor. Unfortunately, it was cold by the time we finished it.
Overall, the food was decent, and the service was good. We didn't like the lack of professionalism when addressing our reservations and seating, and we feel that there is a better way to address patrons. We were really looking forward to our visit here, but left a bit...
Read moreWanted to try a new steakhouse and saw their promotion saying that every first Friday of the month, all steaks are 50% off. I took it as a sign and went there last Friday. The place itself is a bit kitschy, but nicely located next to the lake. Despite being a busy Friday night, they found a table for me pretty quickly. No issues with the service, everyone was polite and service was quite fast.
However, the food and drinks didn’t really match the energy or the image of the place. The Porn Star Martini tasted like pure vodka with a bit of juice, and still had passion fruit seeds in it (which I assume got in there by accident). No foam on top. I know it’s not a cocktail bar, so I wasn’t expecting anything fancy, but the quality was just too poor for a place that advertises itself as fine dining.
The steak was cooked okay, but the cut was bad half of it was fat and connective tissue. Honestly, the presentation wasn’t great either; it looked pale and kind of sad. Asparagus was fine, just regular grilled asparagus. The blue cheese sauce was actually nice, and they served quite a lot of it, the sauce boat was huge. Bread was fine, and the confit garlic was good too.
I paid the bill without checking it and only later realized that the 50% discount wasn’t applied. I didn’t make a scene because 300k isn’t worth the fuss, but it still looks bad for a supposedly upscale restaurant. I know my steak was part of the promotion since my friend went the same day and got the exact same steak with the discount. No idea if they thought I looked rich enough to pay full price (hope so), or if it was just a mistake but either way, that’s not acceptable for a place that claims to be fine dining.
Overall, I won’t come back the steak just wasn’t worth the money. You can buy a better cut at Meatworks/Lotte or El Gaucho and cook it at home with a...
Read moreI had one of the worse experience here yesterday! We booked the table at 8:30pm, the receptionist who answered the phone didn't even confirm my phone number. I arrived at 8:35pm and they told me there is no table available. We had to wait until 8:55pm (and not being offered even a glass of water while we're waiting) to have a table. We ordered Tbone Black Angus 800g medium rare, 1 salad and 1 fries, only received our food at 9:35pm. We had to ask for our steak knives because they only prepare salad knives on the table. The steak (which should be the star of the show) was overcooked on the one end (the black piece on my plate) and iced-cold blue in the middle. We couldn't cut the meat even with the steak knife, and have to leave the food. The manager left before we started the meal already so we feedback to the staff. They bring my plate to the kitchen, and bring back the same peace, didn't even cook it again and just say sorry 😞
My boyfriend had a stomachache last night and the whole experience was so...
