According to their website, Tram Sushi actually started out as a cart business selling sushi by the roadside – at least that’s what we’ve gathered from the photos without being able to use Google translate. Today, they not only have a 2 storey full-fledged restaurant, Tram Sushi also sits on a prime spot right in front of Truc Bach Lake…
The offerings at Tram Sushi is actually quite extensive. From the menu of Tram Sushi, we saw that you can enjoy many different types of Japanese dishes such as sushi, sashimi, rice sets (with eel, beef or salmon) as well as udon. This time, we ordered
– Set 196B that comes with salmon sushi, aburi salmon sushi and unagi sushi at 216k VND (or $13 SGD). – Beef Curry Rice at 120k VND (or $7 SGD) – Beancurd with Ponzu Sauce (22k VND or $1.5 SGD)
As you can see from the photos above, the presentation was actually very good. The sushi were neatly arranged, so was the beef curry rice. The beancurd looked like what we would get in SG as well. However, in the taste department, they were not up to the mark.

Don’t recommend coming here. The reviews are misleading. Might have been a one off incident but we are definitely not coming back here again. UPDATE: the next day all 3 of us got food poisoning after...
Read moreWe fancied something else for a meal and ended up at Tram Sushi. It was still early so we were the only ones there. It was really nice sushi, more than enough to choose from. Ingredients tasted fresh, and their kitchen is 3 doors down meaning no smells of fryers or so in the restaurant itself. A lovely lady spoke good English and explained they don't take card payments anymore, so make sure to bring cash as a foreigner (you can pay via qr-code but that didn't work...
