The Three M Restaurant — Restaurant in Hải Phòng

I don't often leave reviews but felt I needed to after this meal. My partner and I were seated after we entered the restaurant and after 15 minutes we still hadn't been asked what drink we wanted. This was surprising as there was only us and two other couples in the entire restaurant at the time.

When I eventually caught the eye of who I assume is Hien, she instructed a guy, who up until this moment we'd only seen continually clear phlegm from his throat and spit it out the back of the restaurant, to come take our order. Not the best start.

I asked what an "abalone" was in the menu but there was a language barrier so he called Hien over and she explained and showed me the live creatures in the tanks. I explained it probably wasn't for me and returned to my table.

He takes our order, tuna tartar for me, Vietnamese style seabass for my partner, and delivers some draught beers that were quite nice tbh.

I was then informed by him there was no tuna tartar and I needed to change. Not ideal but fine.. Several minutes pass and he still hasn't asked me for my meal. All the while my partner's food is no doubt cooking. Eventually, yet again, I had to catch the attention of Hien and tell her that I'd like the crab in tamarin sauce instead.

Then an "abalone" comes out... It seems like one of the waiting staff had taken me enquiring about it for the actual order. They said it was a mixup and it was for a different table but when they presented it to the other couple they looked pretty shocked to receive it. It could have just been a simple error though.

Then my partners seabass comes out. I had to sit and watch my partner eat it whilst my crab is prepared as it took so long to be asked what I wanted. My partners seabass is very nice tbf, and was the saving grace of the evening.

Finally my crab arrives, the crab itself is quite small but the sauce is delicious. I've never eaten crab so I ask for some pointers. Hien tells me to pick it up and snap it in half. I pick it up and it's scalding hot. Anyway it certainly didn't fill me but I knew what I was signing up for by ordering a crab and the sauce was tasty.

The man comes over to clean our plates at the end by wiping the remaining food off all the plates in front of us with his hands.. It was an awkward and slightly amusing minute and something that's usually done in the kitchen.

We finally leave and the following morning I've been throwing up and performing a relay race with the toilet, which is the icing on the cake really of just a real let down of a meal, considering it was the most expensive meal we've paid for in...

We had a very poor experience at this restaurant. We invited 2 friends. To start with most of the female staff were very rude and arrogant. They took our order and repeated it twice. The meals came out at all different times and my Partner never received his meal. My chilli crab was extremely small and I ended up with probably a tablespoon of crab meat for dinner. To top it off a rat ran through the restaurant while discussing the bill. The male manager was very rude and only offered a 10% discount with poor service, small meals and my Partner going back to out hotel hungry. We love the Vietnamese people and have enjoyed great food and wonderful service elsewhere but this restaurant is definitely a 0 out of 10 for disgusting service and taking no responsibility for what was delivered or should I say not delivered. Definitely, not a good experience… First of all, we were inclined to come in as they had fresh Lobster. When we asked for the price before getting in, they said one price which they modify right after we sat down to order. We tried to leave this issue behind but their service got worst… Food itself was really tasty and good quality, we would have been happy to pay for the overpriced dishes. But along our dinner, their staff kept on checking on us and asking to leave a good review… They have been really pushy about it and here it is… To be honest, the price is not worth it as they had a pushy and egocentric behaviour for not recognising a mistake. Also not to mention that when it came the moment to pay for the bill they overcharged us with 4 beers which we didn’t have. Judge the restaurant...
