CHTITECUISINE — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

my first time here and will also be my last 🥲 had pretty good impression until I started ordering.

service: firstly, i don’t feel welcomed by the female staff. secondly, i don’t find her helpful. i asked what are some of the best sellers and she said it depends and left me decide on my own. until i decided on the beef, she suggested the venison instead (?!) the weirdest thing is when I wanted to order extra sauce, she said i should not and use the salt instead since the sauce would take a long while. however, i insisted and asked the male staff instead. and SUPRISINGLY, the sauce came after 1 minute (?!)

food: personally i think the food (meat, penne) is very bland, dry and mediocre. that’s why i insisted on the sauce after trying the salt as suggested. the sauce itself is tasteless too. the only plus point is the super big portion, even enough...

Upon arrival at 11:30 we were told where to sit, at a table by the street, even though the restaurant was empty and we were the only guests. We ordered two croque Madame for 90k each, which were very basic, and served on a side plate, could have been easily improved with some lettuce or tomato on the side. We were never checked up on or asked if we wanted to order something else. Every small request (hot sauce) seemed to inconvenience the person serving us. At this point in time the three people working there were sitting inside the restaurant having a chat at a table. When we asked to pay the bill was brought, and instead of clearing the table or asking how everything was she stood above me waiting to count the cash. Chtitecuisine was a very good experience for me. The restaurant was full when I came for lunch. Ambience was great. One waitress looked after all Tables outside. 20 eating Guests one waitress. She spoke English good enough and she worked like crazy. I ordered the Merguez for my lunch. The Merguez made from Veal. This was absolutely in my taste line. Very well spiced and cooked. After I had a Apple tart. It could Seriously be the best one I've had in ASIA. Very French restaurant. If you like me like very typically French Country side food and old school food and French style Bistro. This is a MUST. The guests all being French made a ambience to remember.
