We stayed here for 2 nights in the economy double room. Through booking.com, this room is advertised as "boasting a balcony" and a "flat screen TV". However, the room we had had no balcony or TV. The only 'window' in the room was into the hotel lobby so it provided no natural light and we had to keep the curtain closed the entire time unless we wanted to be on display to the busy lobby. Additionally, the advertised room features a much larger bathroom than the one we had, which was a toilet with a shower head essentially above it. If you turn the pressure up on the shower enough to have a good wash then the shower head turns round to face the toilet so you have to stand over the toilet to wash. We told hotel staff as soon as we checked in that we had booked a balcony room but they said there was none available. They said that only 1 of the 2 economy rooms has a balcony, despite this not being mentioned in the booking details. At 8pm the night before we checked out, they said we could move to the balcony room and seemed upset when we said we didn't want to move as there was no point given we would check out in the morning. On our first night I was woken by the staff checking someone in at 1am (due to our window going directly into the lobby so we could hear everything!). Also, breakfast starts at 7 in the lobby so there is no chance of a lie in if you get this room. The bed was comfy and clean. We were provided with a plate of fresh fruit upon check in which was a nice gesture. Overall, disappointed in the false advertisement of the room. This would be a simple fix to separate the way the rooms are booked on booking.com so that they are more accurate to what we are booking and avoid dissapointment. However, it was clean and comfortable and a convenient place to stay to explore...

Having journeyed across continents—from the cobbled alleys of Prague to the bustling souks of Marrakech—I’ve grown discerning about accommodations. Yet, Jan Hostel Central Point in Ho Chi Minh City managed to surprise me in the best possible way.
Tucked discreetly down a quiet alley near Ben Thanh Market, the hostel offers a rare blend of comfort, convenience, and authentic Vietnamese charm. From the moment I checked in, I felt more like a welcomed guest in someone’s home than a transient traveler. The staff were exceptionally warm and attentive, effortlessly switching between Vietnamese and fluent English, always eager to assist with a smile.
The rooms are modest but impeccably clean and thoughtfully furnished. My room featured soft lighting, a cozy bed, and a small balcony overlooking the vibrant city streets—a serene spot to sip morning coffee and watch the world go by. Despite its central location, nights were blissfully quiet, ensuring restful sleep after long days of exploration.
What truly sets Jan Hostel apart, however, is its unbeatable location. Within walking distance are Saigon’s cultural landmarks: the War Remnants Museum, Notre-Dame Cathedral, and the Reunification Palace. Countless street food stalls and cafés line the nearby roads, offering a culinary adventure at every turn.
In a city that rarely pauses, Jan Hostel Central Point is an oasis—a place where seasoned travelers can find peace, connect with locals, and experience the city’s pulse just steps away. For those seeking genuine hospitality rather than impersonal luxury, this little hostel is a rare treasure. I wouldn’t...

I had a wonderful stay at this lovely hostel in Ho Chi Minh. From the moment I arrived, the staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming. I especially appreciated the welcome fruit—it was such a nice, local touch that made me smile.
The hotel itself is very clean and well-maintained. On the second morning, I happened to pass by a housekeeping staff member near the elevator. Even though I accidentally got in their way, they smiled warmly and kindly made space for me. It was a small moment, but it left a big impression.
My room was spotless. At one point, I dropped something between the wall and the desk and had to reach in to get it. To my surprise, there wasn’t a speck of dust! ✨ That level of cleanliness really says a lot.
One thing to note: the shower room floor felt a bit slippery. I’m in my 30s and still managed to slip and fall (no injuries, thankfully—just a laugh 😅). I would recommend extra caution for children or older guests.
At night, even with the windows closed, I could hear some music from outside—it was a little noisy but not unbearable.
Still, for the price, this hotel is an absolute gem. It’s clean, charming, and comfortable. I was more than satisfied with my stay.
By the way, I’ve worked as a front desk staff member at several hotels for over 10 years, and I can say that this place was truly outstanding overall. It’s not a luxury hotel, but it’s a genuinely wonderful place with kind and professional staff. I highly recommend it.
A special shoutout to Vincent at the front desk—he was so kind, fun to talk to, and truly made my stay memorable. I hope I can meet him...
