Nghe Cafe is the real deal for coffee lovers. My wife wanted to sample the famous Saigon Egg coffee so we came here. I don't drink coffee (I know, I know, my wife can't understand it either) so I had a beer. The owner is friendly and a sharp businessman and we enjoyed sitting at a table out front, drinking our drinks, and just people-watching. The owner was always busy hawking his cafe to passers-by in a very friendly and joking manner, you couldn't help but like the guy. Prices were very good.
We felt hungry so the owner prompted us to go over the road to a small table and stools and a woman brought us a menu for her footpath grill business. We shared a bun thit nuong, three thit xien nuong and a couple of beers. It was some of the best food I had in Vietnam, eaten on a plastic table on the footpath, watching all the passers-by.

I regularly come here now for my favorite - the traditional Vietnamese Egg Coffee. They do it very well with just the right hint of sweetness. Very cheerful and helpful owner and staff. When arriving i got instantly swarmed by the loud and intrusive staff constantly repeating 'come, come my friend' 'welcome to Vietnam' etc. etc. They did that to all pedestrians walking by so it felt like sitting on the horrible bui vien street and made it impossible to sit and relax outside.
To top off the bad experience, the ordered cacao was not really cold, watery and very bitter. Chucked it down quickly and left, will definitely look out for a less intrusive and better cafe for the...
