SCAM !!!! It's the same Hotel - Indochine Hotel SG
I am writing to report an organised hotel scam in Saigon that I and many others have been victims of. We booked this hotel in Booking.com, the name of the hotel is called Indochine Hotel SG. It has great reviews on Booking.com so we booked it without realising that all those were posted by locals. We had the worst experience we’ve had at a hotel. We arrived around 12 in the midnight. We were told that the room we booked is under maintenance and tried to charge us a higher price for a lot cheaper room. We negotiated and finally managed to get the room at the same price listed in Booking.com. When we got to the room we realised that housekeeping was not done. There was hair on the bed, dirty towels in the bathroom and toilet was dirty. There was also a luggage tag from Malaysian airlines in the bin. We wanted to get a refund and go to a different hotel but they refused to refund and told us to sleep in the bed for one night. We refused and got them to change the sheets and towels. By this time it was around 2am in the night and we didn’t have energy after a long flight from Australia. So we stayed in the room for that night. Next morning we requested that they refund the money for the second night. But they refused. They weren’t apologetic at all. We then read reviews on Google and there were many people who had the same experience and has warned that it is a scam. The place has changed the name number of times. Has a different address in Booking.com. and has been scamming people under different business names. Please investigate this and take action. We do not want anyone else in the same situation as us in a...
Read moreThe hotel itself was nice, apparently they are newly open. The only problem in this hotel is the reception, we were welcome by 1 lady and 1 guy at the reception. I provided all the documents required, the lady asked me to pay for the accommodation, I then told her that I have paid, she keeps saying no- the card was only being input. Which I myself understand the policy, however, I have had contacted hotel to settle the rooms prior, and did receive confirmation but no invoice as they said only can get it after checkout.
The lady still argued with me, with her attitude. When I was looking for the conversation screenshot, the other guy who has been sitting there all the time, look at the screen and took over the conversation- said that ah its been paid. The lady not even apologize for her mistake and attitude. I understand that miscommunication can happened but she keeps her attitude and just refuse to look at me again.
The guy also didn‘t act any apologetic at all.
Anyway, good hotel, even though the entrance is small - we enjoyed the rooms. We book the 2 bedrooms, the second room up floor is not suitable for elderly as it requires you to walk upstairs, the bed was made with tatami style.
My main concern is the shower room, on my last night I slipped on the floor. As it was too slippery, perhaps need to put extra floor matt.
The location is very good, proximity to the behn tan market and...
Read moreReasonable price stay.. $130 for 2 nights. The 2 bedroom unit for 6 pax is spacious. First floor room is 1 queen size bed with attached bathroom. Upstairs is 2 queen size beds for 4 of us.. there are total of 2 bathrooms at first floor.. room is clean but unfortunately there are 2 cockroaches appeared on the 3rd day morning. I suspected is due to we ate cup noodles in the room night before. There is no window but no big deal. Overall is a good stay as it’s really near to everything, walking distance to restaurants, cafe, Benh Thanh market, Saigon square and many other attractions. Recommend to have breakfast opposite the hotel - AMAzing cafe. The croissants taste super good. There is circle K convenience store just next street. Grab is pretty cheap if lazy to walk. They can keep the baggages for us before check in time and after check out. Will recommend to those...
