We recently stayed at the newly opened Grand Hotel du Lac Boutique Saigon for 3 nights, and it was nothing short of an exceptional experience. From the moment we arrived, every member of the staff impressed us with their warm hospitality. They consistently greeted us with genuine smiles, helped with our luggage, and opened doors with such grace and attentiveness.
This trip was especially meaningful as I had planned a birthday surprise for my wife. Despite only reaching out less than a week in advance, the hotel team responded with great enthusiasm and dedication. Ms Lan, the hotel’s sales admin, replied promptly to my emails and messages, offering helpful suggestions and even proposing an improved surprise plan. She coordinated everything seamlessly with her colleagues.
Once the planning was done, Mary, the hotel manager, personally took charge of executing the surprise. She went above and beyond — supervising the housekeeping team herself to ensure the room was beautifully decorated before our check-in, and arranging for flowers and a birthday cake to be delivered to the room the next morning. Her attention to detail, regular updates, and genuine care truly made all the difference. The surprise went perfectly, and my wife was absolutely delighted. We even received a complimentary room upgrade to one offering higher level of privacy — a thoughtful touch that made our stay even more special.
We were also warmly welcomed by the front desk staff upon arrival, especially Ms. Kati, whose friendly and pleasant personality stood out. She made us feel at home and even saw us off to the car, opened the car door for us before we boarded to catch our flight at the airport.
Breakfast at the hotel was another highlight. The spread was generous and thoughtfully curated — from fresh pastries and bread to hot à la carte options like pho, eggs benedict, and Vietnamese dumplings. I particularly loved the freshly squeezed juice and aromatic Vietnamese coffee, brewed fresh upon order. The staff at the breakfast place were also served with excellent hospitality.
The hotel’s location is unbeatable — right opposite Ben Thanh Market in District 1, and within walking distance or a short drive to Saigon Centre (Takashimaya), Vincom Centre, and Nguyen Hue Walking Street.
As it's a newly opened hotel, some facilities are still under construction. The rooms look clean and luxurious, as everything is brand new.
Overall, we had a truly memorable and heartwarming stay. The service and hospitality at Grand Hotel du Lac Boutique Saigon set a new standard. My heartfelt thanks to Ms Lan, Mary, Kati, and the entire team for making my wife's birthday celebration so special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a charming, well-located hotel with outstanding service in Ho...

My partner booked this hotel for our anniversary. They decorated our room pretty nicely and changed the fresh flowers on different days. Our room was the premier suite standing balcony. I really enjoyed our stay because the service from the staff was really great and detailed. My room had a balcony which was facing the east gate of Ben Thanh market. This is definitely a gem because hotel only opened 2 months ago with everything in the hotel NEW. Every corner in the hotel was designed very extravagantly as well. The vibes were good.
Of course there were still some construction undergoing but they worked at hours that we were out so it’s totally fine for us.
MUST get their breakfast because this is by far one of the best breakfast I’ve had. And by all means, the food quality, ok just by FRUIT JUICE, there’s definitely no added sugar. You can tell how sincere they are. Restaurant may be small but it has EVERYTHING fresh.
Vietnamese coffee on the menu was super good, and must try their beef pho. I loved their pastries esp their Pain Au Chocolate!!
It’s rlly very impressive. The bath tub was huge! And lighting in the room was not too bad. Just a point to note on the shampoo bottles, be careful if you’re holding the cap as it is detachable and might drop and injure anyone. We didn’t know so we accidentally broke the bottle, got the cleaner to clean but there were some miscom with the management. And we thought the most important thing was safety, luckily, the management reviewed on this and waived our bottle. We were very sorry about the damage and grateful for their understanding.
Staffs and managers had their sense of humour. Given our 3 nights stay over there, the interactions with the staffs would make you feel that it’s personal and they will make you feel special. Everyone will try and remember your room number. I feel really great overall and satisfied with everything. Definitely would recommend all to have a stay here if you wanna walk around district one.
Special shoutout to the guy who help us with check in late at night, those that opened the doors, served us in restaurant, spoken to us, and Nelly & Ethan who helped us with our departure to the airport! My first trip to Vietnam was a memorable one and this hotel played a great part in it.
Oh ya, we ate 4P pizza at the entrance seats and one of the guys served us iced water, that was very notable!
Hit us up if you wanna give us discounts for our next stay ;) we will be very happy...
Read moreWe stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. On our second night, we requested laundry service and gave very specific instructions, cold wash only and strictly hang dry. We emphasized this multiple times and made sure they understood, it was even written clearly on our receipt, and they assured us they would follow our request.
But when the clothes came back the next day, we were horrified. The plastic logos were sticky and melted, the fabric was shrunk to the point we couldn’t even wear them anymore and one of the items even had a tear. There’s absolutely no way this could’ve happened without exposure to heat. What other explanation is there?
Despite the obvious damage, they denied everything and offered nothing but a one time $5 car service as compensation, an absolute insult. To make things worse, the manager blocked me on the messaging app, making it impossible to communicate. We were left with damaged, unwearable clothes and no real accountability.
Even the reception manager admitted to us that only a machine or heat could cause this kind of damage and yes, we recorded it. We have proof that even their own staff acknowledged it came from external heat. And yet, they still refused to take proper responsibility.
We asked them to review the CCTV footage around the dryer area but they came up with excuse after excuse, claiming the cameras didn’t capture that specific spot or that it wasn’t visible on the footage. We told them from the start that we expected this kind of nonsense, and unfortunately, we were right. Instead of giving a clear answer, they gave us nothing but vague and senseless reasoning to avoid showing whether our clothes were actually put in the dryer or not. We asked for the footage to be sent because they claimed they “did the job right” but now they just completely ignored us.
This entire experience was incredibly stressful and disappointing. If you value your clothes and your peace of mind, do not use their laundry service. Ever. No guest should have to deal with this level of negligence...
