Saigon Princess - Luxurious Dining Cruise — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

Overall it’s a splendid dinner experience! It was easy to find as we arrived at the Saigon Port. Staff waiting for check-in were very helpful and friendly, we were led quickly onboard the ship and were directed to our dinner table. Cruise ship was beautifully furnished with tables properly set up for arriving guests. Instantly we were greeted by a host Service Staff who introduced himself and briefed us on the pre booked dinner. Meals came and the ship set off. There were music entertainment onboard where the loudness of the sound system wasn’t jarring. It was an rainy evening so we didn’t manage to enjoy the upper deck view of the night scene but the restaurant do have glass doors and panels so we did our viewing of the river and city buildings at dinner table. Food was good. I gave 4-star as I am particularly picky on how better food should be prepared and that there could be much room for improvement to what was offered. I would give Staff Service the highest applaud for this cruise experience.

Here’s some comments for thought by the management: As it was raining, the entertainment on upper deck did not happen, which they said was supposed to be some singing and dancing so they did that in the restaurant much to my dismay. I was hoping NOT to have too much noises so that we can enjoy the view and we couldn’t escape to the upper deck. The entertainers who sang were pinoys so they were great in singing Tagalog and English. However… they butchered the songs when they tried singing Chinese and Japanese. It’s a big No-No to me as it may be somewhat offensive to native speakers. Either sing them well (accurate pronunciation)...

I had dinner on the Saigon Princess Luxurious Dining Cruise last night and it was a truly memorable experience. Initially, I was seated at an indoor table but I wanted to enjoy the rooftop deck for better views of the Saigon River. They offered an upgrade option for rooftop seating at 200,000 VND per person which I gladly accepted.

However, due to unexpected rain that evening, the staff thoughtfully moved us back to indoor seating for safety and comfort and they didn’t charge the upgrade fee. I was genuinely surprised and impressed by their considerate customer care, especially since the bad weather wasn’t their fault.

The service throughout the night was excellent. I selected the international set menu (3 courses) which was more than enough to satisfy my appetite. Each dish was well-prepared, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious.

The staff were generally kind, attentive, and always ready to assist. While a few team members still carried a traditional Vietnamese style of service with some facial expressions that might feel less welcoming to foreigners. I understand and respect that it's part of the local culture. It didn’t take away from the overall great experience.
