Came here for lunch with my wife. I ordered the Lone Star Burger and my wife had the ceaser salad with grilled chicken. When I ordered the burger I was asked how I would like it cooked rare, medium rare, medium or well done. I always eat my steak rare but as this was a burger a asked for it to be cooked medium rare. The food arrived I took a few big bites of my burger there was a lot of caramelized onions and other condiments on the burger so I didn't notice how undercooked it was at first but I noticed a lot of very pink looking meat after my third bite and then scraped away the onions to inspect the burger it was almost completely raw all the way through there was no sign of any cooking even the top of the burger was bright pink and dark red in places it hadn't even been seared by the look of it. I showed the waitress and advised her that the meat was completely raw she apologiesed and immediately offered to have the burger remade. I had been put off of the burger at this point and asked if I could just have the Ceaser salad with grilled chicken that my wife had ordered. The Ceaser salad was absolutely delicious the grilled chicken was so flavourful with a lovely flame grilled taste and juicy and perfectly cooked the Ceaser dressing was also perfect the best Ceaser salad I have ever had my wife agreed and thoroughly enjoyed hers as well. I was also given a complimentary drink the staff were excellent. Had it not been for the amazing customer service from the staff I would have only given a 1 star review due to the uncooked burger and cost of the food but we ended up having a very pleasant lunch and I even left a small tip even though there was a 5% service charge...
Read moreTurkey dinner was 650k pp and my pumpkin pie didn’t even come with whip cream nor ice cream on top ☹️
The turkey was great though, they included dark meat also, which is my love, but it wasn’t enough for the price imo. The white meat was on the drier side. We had a 8:30pm booking maybe they kept cooking the bird.
Creamy green beans were very delicious, so was their stuffing. The mashed potato was tasty with lots of flavors too unlike the other places with bland flavorless mash. I did not want the carrot though not a big fan but it was slightly sweet, my friends liked it. Stuffing was more authentic than the other places where they cut the pieces smaller and more mixes of innards and other ingredients aside from just bread.
They use white gravy here which was delicious but not as strong of a flavor as dark gravy. Overall the dish was delicious!!!
The cranberry sauce was more like jelly, not very jammy, not freshly made, it was more like jello. Just my guess. Not terrible but chunkier juicier sauce would’ve been better!
The pumpkin pie was sooooo creamy, it was thick at the same time so there were loooots of flavors! Shame they didn’t put any whip or ice cream on it.
I had a happy plate and ate off of my friend’s plate as it was her second turkey dinner of the night.
I will have to come back to try their normal menu as I heard great things about this American restaurant.
A bit hard to find and dingy.. it’s in what looks like an old residential building....
Read moreEnded up here with traveling friends following a late night drinks and snacks visit the previous day to its sister restaurant, Red Bison Grill. The latter visit followed a complete underwhelming dinner visit to the Forest Therapy Kitchen. The Wagon Wheel is located off a narrow alley to the northwest of the night market square. We had a thoroughly enjoyable visit with Logan, the owner, at the Red Bison, and upon finding the food there quite elevated, decided to dine at the Wagon Wheel. Glad we did. The restaurant is located in an upper floor off the alley way - a huge sign in the alley advertising its presence. We were seated promptly and ordered our drinks, appetizers and food. We were pleasantly surprised to hear that the little girl in our party was to receive a complimentary dessert - turns out Logan had seen us arrive via video camera, and instructed his staff accordingly! What a classy touch! Our previous meet up with Logan was thoroughly enjoyable - so nice of him to have kept tabs. Drinks and food arrived promptly and were reminiscent of home (Texas). The appetizers were spot-on and the meats in the mains were cooked perfectly! Each better than the other…the Lone Star Burger too was superbly cooked and crafted. Quantities were ample. All in all, thoroughly satisfying visits to both the Red Bison as well as the Wagon Wheel. Definitely worth a visit - Logan and staff take pains to make...
