Local guide recommended this place. Also first recommended place in Lonely planet Vietnam book. Really busy and a loud atmosphere. Full of Vietnamese and tourists. Next door is a Karaoke bar. It's really loud ! Too loud. Does not help in my opinion. The menu is small and Food is local. That's good. The staff were super busy. Work really hard. Did not look happy though. Fast turn around on tables. It's a big restaurant also. Opened the menu and first few pages were western dishes, obviously for tourists. Not a good sign ! We ordered 4 local dishes to share. Two were Really nice. Other two were plain and dull. The reviews on here are from some local guides who obviously have a deal with this place, hence the high reviews. I would not go back. So don't recommend this restaurant. We have noticed in Vietnam that the larger restaurants are not as good as smaller ones. Street food is the far supierer choice. The food is lovely. Don't be afraid to try. I use Google translater if I have any problems.
P.s. Why go to a foreign country and not eat there food ? I don't get it. Keep away from busy main roads / tourist areas and explore. Make the effort and...
Read moreDuring my travels in Hue, my tour guide dropped me off at Quan Hanh restaurant for what turned out to be an incredible meal. The place is super spacious, and every table was packed with locals and tourists alike—a sure sign that I was in for something special! 🍽️
I was recommended to go with the fixed menu, and I’m so glad I did. The variety of dishes was not only delicious but also gave me a great taste of the local cuisine. Each dish seemed to tell its own story, and I found myself savoring every bite.
One of the highlights of my meal was the service. My server, Na, was incredibly helpful, making sure I had everything I needed. At one point, another server kindly corrected me when I was eating one of the dishes the wrong way. Honestly, I loved that moment—it’s all part of the experience! I’m here to explore and learn, so I appreciated the guidance and the opportunity to do it right.
If you’re looking for a place in Vietnam that serves up authentic flavors in a welcoming atmosphere, Quan Hanh is definitely worth a visit. Whether you’re a seasoned traveler or just beginning your culinary journey, you’ll find something to...
Read moreVietnamese food is generally delicious but my hands down favourite traditional Vietnamese Restaurant is this one!! The decor is basic and no-nonsense but the food is absolutely divine and very affordable. The ever-present queue of people waiting to find a table is a testament to this! I'd suggest grab a few people to go eat with you so that you can try everything because every dish is incredible! Especially the nem lui, banh beo and banh cuon. The choices of vegetarians is a bit limited. However, if you're able to communicate it to them, they can make some of the dishes without meats for you. They also have really great and refreshing coolers and serve beer. The place is really popular (among tourists and locals) and always busy, so be patient. Wait for a table, it's going to be worth it and don't expect the staff to wait on you attentively. Instead, enjoy the busy hustling vibe, pace yourself...
