Tldr: Food is mid, there are better restaurants for this price point, the decor is nice enough
We came because our homestay owner recommended this place to us and told us that they would provide free spring rolls if we told them that he sent us. The food here is slightly pricier than average, and none of the items we ordered were particularly outstanding.
Banh khoai (the stuffed fried pancake): 2/5 This was very oily, with the pancake itself dripping with oil. The filling was okay but the shrimp could have been fresher and less overcooked. I thought it actually tasted slightly like egg, which shouldn’t have been present at all, so I suspect it’s because of the oil it was fried in… This impression might have been a bit tainted because we just had this at the neighbouring restaurant Hot Tuna where it was really leagues better and this just pales in comparison 😔
Fried spring rolls with pork: Free/5 They were pretty good Came hot, sauce was garlicky, nothing tasted off Probably would not have ordered this if it hadn’t been free
Bun Bo Hue: 3/5 Nothing was off but the broth was a little flavourless It’s just a bit underwhelming for 89k since you could take a walk down the street to a more local restaurant for a bowl that’s the exact same for half the price
Papaya salad: 3/5 It’s a good salad on its own but like…I could not tell it was papaya For context, all the dishes come with a little side salad of julienned carrots, papaya and lettuce, so this dish is literally just that but in a bigger portion I like salad so it wasn’t a big deal for me, but if you don’t then I don’t think you’ll want to order this
Lemongrass skewers: 3/5 They’re just okay I think the meat was chicken or pork? But honestly it was so overcooked that I couldn’t tell
The staff are very nice though. I don’t think the service was particularly great but it’s not bad either. Overall I wouldn’t recommend eating here. There’s a bunch of other restaurants down the same street with similar food at similar price points so imo you should try your luck...

I came to Thị’s Kitchen with two colleagues during a short trip to Huế. We were looking for something local but comfortable – a place where we could talk business without being rushed. We ended up staying longer than expected.
🥢 Food
We ordered dishes to share: – Steamed rice with braised fish – tender, savory, and balanced. – Stir-fried vegetables with garlic – light and crisp. – Fried spring rolls – golden and crunchy on the outside, flavorful inside. – Hue-style beef noodle soup – rich, aromatic broth that stayed hot throughout.
What impressed us most was how consistently the dishes were executed. Everything tasted clean, well-seasoned, and comforting without being heavy.
🥤 Drink
I had a passion fruit juice – chilled, not overly sweet, very refreshing. My colleagues ordered iced tea and a lime soda. Drinks arrived quickly, well presented, and paired well with the food.
🙌 Service
Discreet, calm, and very polite. The staff understood we were in conversation and never interrupted. They let us stay even after we finished our meal, offering to refill drinks or adjust fans without being intrusive.
🪴 Ambiance
The downstairs seating was perfect for mid-day – quiet but not empty, softly lit, with ceiling fans and a few plants that kept the space cool. The décor was minimal but tasteful – bamboo touches, clean tables, and soft instrumental music in the background.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 “A dinner sweeter than the promise.”
We came to Thị’s Kitchen for a quiet, special evening – no big celebration, no elaborate setup. Just warmth, subtle charm, and the kind of atmosphere where a simple meal could feel like a keepsake.
🥢 Food
We shared a plate of crispy spring rolls, a bowl of beef noodle soup, and braised tofu with mushrooms. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared – rooted in Hue tradition but refined for a modern palate. The tofu was soft and flavorful, the spring rolls crisp, and the broth of the noodle soup rich without being overpowering.
🍸 Drink
The mojito was a standout – fresh mint, lime, light rum, and crushed ice. Not too sweet, not too strong – just clean, refreshing balance. The glass itself was beautifully served, and it sat on our table like part of the decor.
🪴 Ambiance
We sat upstairs where the lighting was soft and warm. No loud music, no cluttered tables – just the glow of hanging lanterns and greenery trailing from the balcony across the street. It felt peaceful, intimate, and timeless.
🙌 Service
The staff were subtle, smiling, and sensitive to the rhythm of the evening. They gave us space, refilled our water with grace, and offered gentle suggestions without ever intruding. It felt like they truly cared about how the meal felt – not just how it looked.
