Visited this restaurant for lunch today and ordered a lobster, tiger prawns, clams, fish, squid and fried rice. It was a massive disappointment to say the least. Here are the reasons why.
Lobster was grilled but overcooked at the important bits. Tail was rubbery and head flesh was undercooked.
Tiger prawns. This is my biggest bugbear. We saw only 2 live tiger prawns in the tank and asked if they have more. They explained that they have more in the kitchen. We trusted them and ordered a kg and to have them steamed. The eventual dish was a plate of measly looking tiny shrimps (the size of those dried shrimps you see in the market). They are grey Prawns and are not even fresh as you can see how the flesh pulled away from the shell in my photo. Absolutely terrible. They charged us VND400K for this plate (not even sure it was a kg).
Clams. Ok but rather small. Unmemorable.
Fish. We had the yellow pomfret. Fish is rather chewy. Not sure if our live fish is swapped but will give restaurant the benefit of doubt.
Squid. We ordered a dish off the menu which indicated VND160K per portion. Halfway through the meal, staff came over and informed that kitchen can only serve minimum of 1 kg of squid and per kg costs VND600K. What kind of nonsense is this? I decided not to buy into this and advised staff to cancel the order then. Miraculously, the dish was served up in the end as per order. However, it didn't tasted fresh at all.
We visited this restaurant after reading about the reviews here. Clearly, we have either caught the kitchen on a bad day or perhaps the quality of the restaurant has deteriorated severely after the pandemic.
I will strongly suggest you to head somewhere else if you are looking forward to a memorable (in a positive way) seafood meal...
Read moreOur group was the first to be seated on the second floor. To start off, the tables were extremely dirty. The place was horribly loud, food came out extremely slow, people that came after us received their food before us, received items we did not order, dishes came out one by one (every 10-20 minutes). We ultimately decided to order take out from another restaurant because our main dishes took around two hours. People were smoking even though smoking is prohibited in the building. If you want good seafood but don't want to subject yourself to the torture that is this place’s service AND management, then go to anywhere but here! - boss lady did not take...
Read moreGood food and a very tasty home made green chili sauce that is a Nha Trang specialty. The restaurant is clean although we ate mid afternoon when it was quiet. Seafood is all fresh/live except the scallops which were on ice. Great value for money. If you are on a budget this place is much less expensive than any of the beachfront seafood places and tasty. It's pretty close to the Church so makes for a good lunch spot for tourists at an authentic local...
