Upon arriving at 2:00 PM, we found ourselves as the sole patrons of the establishment. We indulged in burgers, which unfortunately fell short of our expectations. The beef burgers featured patties that were excessively thin, and the accompanying potato wedges were severely lacking in substance. My chicken burger patty deviated significantly from its intended appearance, resembling a minced, greasy, and thin piece of chicken. It is perplexing why they could not have prepared a deep-fried, breaded chicken breast. Despite its unnatural form, I succumbed to my appetite and consumed the burger - you could say, just like me with the fairer sex, this isn’t my first time eating meat that looks slightly unnatural. The beer prices, at 30k, were reasonably priced, which I found to be a pleasant surprise. The location, situated by the sea, exuded a sense of grandeur. We spent the remainder of the afternoon sunbathing and enjoying a steady flow of beers. My post-sunbathing physique is satisfactory, as I can confidently report that I have achieved a flawless tan with no tan lines, wink. The restrooms were adequate, although the building itself required some attention to maintenance. Tables and chairs were in a state of disrepair, and various fixtures were showing signs of wear and tear. However, I’m not unfamiliar with sitting on wobbly limp wood. The staff’s service was satisfactory, although their English proficiency was limited. However, we should not hold this against them, as the French got here before us. Overall, if you seek a tranquil and unassuming bar, this establishment may be the perfect choice. Go forth, joyful hugs...
Read moreThích lẩu 5 Vị is a seafood restaurant that specializes in hot pot. The portions are generous, even for the small seafood hot pot. The hot pot is the specialty of the restaurant and it’s definitely worth trying. The broth is flavorful and the seafood is fresh. We also tried the grilled oysters and mussels, which were both delicious. Unfortunately, they were out of fish during our visit. However, the hot pot was still yummy and satisfying.
The staff were friendly and polite, which added to the overall pleasant experience. They were attentive to our needs and made sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was comfortable and cozy, making it a great place to enjoy a meal with friends or family. The restaurant is clean and well-maintained.
One thing that stood out to us was the variety of dipping sauces available for the hot pot. There were many different options to choose from, which allowed us to customize our meal to our liking. We also appreciated the fact that there were vegetarian options available for those who don’t eat meat.
Overall, we had a great experience at Thich Lau 5 Vi and would definitely recommend it to others. If you’re looking for a great seafood hot pot restaurant in Phu Quoc, this is definitely worth...
Read moreI will start by saying that beachfront establishments are not really my thing as they seem to always be very touristy and of course, the prices are substantially higher - though I'm sure their overheads are higher being located beachside. I decided to visit the Angry Crab on an evening, but didn't stay. I couldn't justify sitting at one of their tables on the beach and only listening to the sound of the ocean, and paying 60k VND for a draught beer. There's no intense lighting to see the ocean after dark. The establishment offers beach settings as well as outdoor terrace and indoor seating. They play music at an acceptable level, not too loud so you can still communicate with friends or family. They serve a variety of beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic types) and food. Though expect to pay (in some instances) double the price and even more for the exact same things up on the main road. Overall a bar-restaurant that is aimed at the short term, cash ready tourist market, which if your on holidays treating yourself this place will be...
