NGON OTTO — Restaurant in Phú Quốc

Questionable enthusiasm. Promising curb appeal failed to deliver. The bouncy young barefoot couple that serve lacked nothing in effort but were far from professional. The Pho came out as a stripped down version of what we’d experienced so far in the country and we had to send it back because the noodles were drastically overcooked and aside from that, there were no fresh sides served with it. We asked for basil, bean sprouts and onions to be added and of course they complied. The Bún “beef stir fry” meat was suspect of not being fresh, it was tough and lacked flavor. Also no basic sauces provided. I wish I could say something good about the spring rolls but they were soaked in oil and not a great...

Food was very poor, salmon over cooked, the seafood soup had zero flavour until you added chilli, salt and pepper. Service was haphazard, one member of our group only got their food 30mins later. Atmosphere was bland, we saw a waiter sipping from a drink he was about to serve. The bathroom was dirty, smelly, no running water or toilet paper. Be careful of 5 star reviews, if you give 5 stars and show your Google review, you get a free beer. Probably worst restaurant...

Take any 5 star reviews with a pinch of salt, the restaurant offers free drinks for 5 star reviews and they are not deserved from our experience. The service was poor, they forgot our drinks and when I tried to pay by card took it off me and to the back to do a payment I wasn't allowed to see. The food was bland and very oily which was a shame as we have enjoyed the same dishes lots of times...
