Grandma’s Kitchen — Restaurant in Phú Quốc

This has been a real experience. This kind of fusion kitchen they achieved by the Vietnamese and French corporation is absolutely extraordinary. I really didn’t experience this kind of quality in Asia or Europe. The Pho Soup was very rich in taste, and the deep-fried noodles as a dish with beef has been prepared with so much passion, you can feel with in the dish. The quality of the beef is without any comparison to other dishes I experience.

And all this within a moral less simple dish where you do not expect this kind of quality, inspiration and innovation.

All of this was highlighted by the desert, it was only one available, which was a mixture between a chocolate butter and a chocolate tarde....

Grandma’s Kitchen!!! What a great little restaurant tucked in a small side street on the south side of Duong Dong. A 3 minute walk from the main road. There’s a bit of a Vietnamese/French fusion. We had two lunches and dessert there. Everything was delicious and very freshly cooked in traditional ways. Don’t be in a hurry as good food takes time to prepare. Nicely decorated with colorful lanterns and artifacts from Grandma’s time. Grandma is 94 and lives in France. The restaurant is now managed by the delightful granddaughter. Prices are very reasonable. We ordered the most expensive item on the menu plus dessert and coffee for the equivalent of about $20 US. Do yourself a favor and eat there...

Delicious French cuisine prepared masterfully by a Vietnamese chef who learned her trade well while living in France (I'm told). Of all things, I was especially impressed by the creamed Vietnamese spinach with mushrooms, as an accompaniment for my grilled salmon fiIlet. I'm a sucker for goat cheese salad, and the offering here did not disappoint; especially delicious paired with the perfect fresh warm French bread. The chef's amiable French national husband is a great waiter, as well as the owner of this establishment. Outstanding! I returned here a few weeks later to host a dinner party for 6 people.
