We were a group of 17 friends visiting Ocsen Beach Bar & Club during our vacation in Vietnam. At first glance, the place looked lively — the fire show was quite enjoyable and the vibe seemed promising.

However, from the moment we entered the club, the manager’s attitude was unexpectedly rude. We couldn’t have anticipated just how unpleasant things would get. Still, we tried to brush it off, thinking maybe it was just the pressure of handling a large group — but we were wrong.

Around 4-5 of us were dancing on stage when someone from our group suggested requesting a more upbeat or Hindi track to match the energy. We first asked the DJ politely, but he declined. Then my husband went to the manager to request a song. A friend of ours said maybe I should try speaking instead, assuming he might respond better to a woman.

But as soon as I approached him, the manager started yelling, even while my husband was speaking to him calmly. I told him it’s fine if he couldn’t accommodate, maybe just one song — but he began raising his voice even more, pointed fingers at me, and was extremely disrespectful. He claimed my husband was being abusive — which was entirely untrue. In fact, it was the manager who was aggressive, loud, and completely unprofessional throughout.

He even said he couldn’t change the music because there were “international guests,” as if we didn’t matter. Finally, he escalated it further by threatening to call the police. We chose to walk away from the situation, not wanting to ruin our evening.

This was honestly one of the worst experiences of my travels — and I’ve visited many countries around the world. Never have I encountered such rude and disrespectful behavior from a hospitality professional — and that too, over a simple song request.

Ocsen has potential with its beachfront location and performances, but it’s completely overshadowed by the poor attitude and unacceptable conduct of the management. Definitely not...

There are loads of beach bars / restaurants along Sunset Beach. To be honest, when compared to most other places none of them are actually that good. But if you want to pick the best of a fairly average bunch, then Ocsen is kinda ok.... It's pretty basic. Looks a bit like a building site, but with a few bean bags and bits of material thrown up in a very lazy way. It's certainly not going to win any awards for creative decor, that's for sure. But if you want to chill out on a bean bag and gaze out at the ocean, then this will hit the spot. The food is a bit pricey compared to some of the other bar / restaurants along the beach. But the quality was actually quite good! Far better than most others that we tried. There were also some good vegetarian/ vegan options too. Plus draft beer and a good choice of drinks. At the end of the day, it's a very average looking concrete structure with a bar in it, a few bits of coloured material thrown up to try and make it look a bit better and some bean bags on the sand. But it's on the beach and it serves pretty good food and drink. On Sunset Beach you're not really spoilt for choice. I can't believe no one has created a really great looking bar / restaurant here. But development on the island looks like it's in full swing, so I'm sure that in a few years the whole beach will be covered in fancy looking places to eat and drink. Best time to visit is...

After paying a bill of 1,5 million for some appetizers and drinks; I was asked to pay for an extra item that it was paid already and the waiter instead of asking to their supervisor if I had paid already. He just assumed I didn’t paid and keeps telling me to pay... After, me as the customer, saidthat “it’s already paid” the waiter tells me “No, you have not paid” ... I had my card receipt (physical and electronic); he’s still blaming me for not paying, after seeing the receipts. later , he brings a supervisor or something and she just tells me the same; that I have not paid. Even though, I was showing both receipts to their faces. Later they say they will show me... well they come with a paper and some items written with a pen and the total of 830k, the exact same value that is in my bank receipt and electronic receipt on my phone. They stayed for almost the whole time aside of my chair telling me to pay until they brought that paper with the items to corroborate. And it’s especially rude due to after the customer tells you that they have paid; you better have good evidence of the contrary to start blaming the customer of not paying. Plus, not even a sorry from their management. The area is very nice in front of the beach but they need to be more considerate and logical with...

When I booked my hotel, I noticed it was close to this beach bar, so I was really excited to try it. I went here on a date, and before coming I had read reviews saying the bar was not family-friendly and that Vietnamese guests were not treated as well as foreigners. My experience was completely different. As a Vietnamese couple, we were treated very kindly. The staff were friendly and cheerful when talking with us, and one even offered to take our picture. The music was really good too. We went after 8 p.m., and the entrance fee was about 80,000 VND per person, not including drinks. We ordered drinks, and they were very good. As for the reviews about families, I want to say this: it is a bar, so it is naturally not a place for kids. People drink alcohol, smoke, and use shisha here, so of course there is smoke. If you are sensitive to that, you can ask the staff for a seat in an area with less smoke, or it may be better to skip it. But it is not fair to expect a bar to be family-friendly. The highlight was definitely the fire dance. It was impressive, lasted about 30 minutes, and even invited guests to join in. Overall, I had a really satisfying experience and would recommend this bar to anyone looking for a lively night out in Phu Quoc.

We booked the 10:00 PM fire show, with an entry fee of 80K. Food and alcoholic drinks are charged separately. We arrived around 9:30 PM and found that most of the beach seating was already taken. Thankfully, we still managed to get a spot on the sand — others were starting to be directed to the high stools off to the side. Do note that food here is pricier than the drinks, and it’s best not to come with high expectations for the food quality. Occasionally, a whiff of sewage from the seaside drifts by, which was a major downside to the experience. The atmosphere is lively and chill — sipping drinks while sitting on the beach is a great way to unwind. However, be prepared that people around you may be openly smoking. Bean bag seats are limited, so if you’re hoping to get a good beach spot, be sure to arrive early. The fire show starts promptly at 10:00 PM. There might be a bit of waiting around beforehand, but the performance itself is truly impressive — though it only lasts around 7–8 minutes, it’s absolutely worth seeing. One tip: once the show ends, everyone rushes to book a Grab, so plan your transport ahead to avoid the scramble.
