The most satisfying restaurant experience I had during my entire trip to Phu Quoc – in terms of taste, service, and even price. We visited on a weekday around 5 PM, which is the last cable car return time from Hon Thom Island. The restaurant is about a 6-minute walk from the cable car station. There were only two groups in the dining hall, including ours, so it was quite peaceful.
Despite usually being sensitive to seafood smells, I thoroughly enjoyed the meal thanks to the incredibly fresh ingredients and high-quality cooking. The menu is quite extensive, with a wide variety of dishes including Western options like steak, hamburgers, French fries, and spaghetti – making it a great spot for families traveling with children who may not be fans of seafood. *But this review is focused on seafood, which I ate.
The seafood platter, priced at a reasonable 1.2 million VND, included grilled lobster, oysters, shrimp, sea urchin, and scallops. Every ingredient was fresh and cooked to perfection, and the clever use of sauces added complexity and balance to the flavors.
The crab fried rice was also excellent – the crab meat was nicely picked and served separately for easy pairing, and the rice itself was stir-fried over high heat, making it fluffy and not soggy at all.
The spring rolls featured a whole shrimp that was properly cleaned and very fresh, paired with equally fresh vegetables. Served with peanut sauce and fish sauce. This is a perfect appetizer or side-dish.
The deep-fried squid, called "Calamari," was outstanding – no fishy smell at all thanks to the freshness of the squid. The batter held together well and didn’t separate, and the accompanying tartar sauce had a great balance of richness and acidity.
We also had cocktails and Carlsberg draft beer. The beer was served cold with just the right amount of foam. They also served a complimentary tea – I’m not sure what kind it was, but it had a pleasant nutty and refreshing aroma.
Overall, this was an excellent restaurant. If Hon Thom Island is fully operational and I return to Phu Quoc in the future, I would absolutely come back. Thank you for the delicious meal and service.
*The photos aren't the best because I took them quickly for my own records. **We paid about 2 million VND for the three of us, which included our meal and drinks (3 beers and...
Read moreTimes Corner is undeniably one of the best restaurants in Sunset Town. The variety of food and drink options is impressive, catering to a wide range of tastes. The atmosphere is cozy and upscale, and the dining utensils and table settings are surprisingly luxurious, which adds a touch of elegance to the overall experience.
What stood out the most during my visit was the exceptional service provided by a staff member named Pham Phu Phat. He was incredibly attentive, quick to respond, and showed great initiative in ensuring our needs were met throughout the meal. His professionalism really elevated our experience.
However, while the overall impression was positive, there are a few areas that could be improved. The menu, although diverse, lacked clear descriptions in English, which made choosing certain dishes a bit confusing. Additionally, the waiting time for our food was longer than expected, even though the restaurant wasn’t overly crowded at the time.
After the meal, we had the chance to relax while enjoying the stunning sea view and the cable cars passing by—definitely a highlight of Sunset Town. As a nice bonus, I received a small souvenir, which was a thoughtful gesture and left a lasting impression.
Despite the minor issues, Times Corner is a highly recommended spot, especially for those looking for a scenic and refined dining experience in...
Read moreThe food is quite enjoyable and flavorful. We ordered the blue crab spaghetti, steak, and fresh shrimp spring rolls. While the overall quality was acceptable, there’s room for improvement—especially in the selection and use of herbs.
The restaurant is spacious and well air-conditioned, providing a comfortable dining environment. Outside, a few harmless geckos can be seen, which naturally contribute to keeping the area free of insects.
It would be helpful for the restaurant to review its table layout to better accommodate different group sizes. Sitting directly in front of a window and facing outward can feel awkward and may detract from the...
