Review of India Gate – Sapa Branch
India Gate in Sapa has been our go-to dining spot for the past three days, and it has left an unforgettable impression on us. Located conveniently close to the city center, it offers traditional Indian cuisine that’s as authentic as it gets.
Food Quality
The food quality is outstanding and matches the high standards of Indian flavors. Every dish is freshly made, beautifully presented, and consistently delicious. We tried almost every vegetarian item on the menu (avoiding non-vegetarian dishes) and were impressed with the diversity. The menu caters to various dietary preferences seamlessly.
Service
The staff here is courteous, welcoming, and efficient. Even during peak hours, when the restaurant gets crowded due to its popularity, they handle everything with admirable professionalism. While minor delays can occur during rush times, they are minimal and understandable. Special mention to the manager, whose attentiveness and diligence in understanding our preferences made our experience even better.
Ambiance and Experience
The ambiance is pleasant and reflects the warmth of Indian hospitality. Though the space could be larger to accommodate the high demand, it remains clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The consistent quality of food and service over three days highlights their dedication to excellence.
Pricing
The pricing is very reasonable, especially considering the generous portion sizes and exceptional taste. There are no promotions or offers, but the value for money is unquestionable.
Overall Highlights
What impressed us the most was the courteous and thoughtful approach of the staff, particularly the manager, who went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. Each day, we tried new dishes, and every single time, we were delighted.
Room for Improvement
The only minor suggestion would be to expand the space and add a few extra helpers during peak hours to speed up service. However, this did not detract from the overall experience.

Read moreWe recently dined at this Indian restaurant, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! Despite being located in a smaller town, this place exceeded all expectations in terms of food, ambiance, and hospitality.
First and foremost, the food was absolutely delicious. Every dish we ordered was bursting with authentic flavors, perfectly spiced, and freshly prepared. From the Paneer Tikka Masalla to the creamy butter chicken and the soft, warm naans, everything was cooked to perfection. You could tell the chefs put their heart into crafting each dish. We had some hard drinks and requested for warm water and they were all there to assist.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was another highlight. The interiors were clean, beautifully decorated, and had a warm, welcoming vibe. It was the kind of place where you could relax and enjoy your meal without any rush. Even the background music added to the experience, creating an authentic and soothing environment.
What made our visit even more special was the kindness and professionalism of the staff. Everyone was attentive, friendly, and genuinely cared about making our dining experience memorable. The manager went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. He took the time to chat with us, recommend dishes, and even shared some insights about the local area. It’s rare to see this level of dedication and hospitality, and it made us feel truly valued as customers.
Another pleasant surprise was the pricing. The meal was very reasonably priced compared to other Indian restaurants in town, especially considering the high quality of the food and service. It was fantastic value for money, and we left feeling completely satisfied.
Whether you're a local or just passing through, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. Delicious food, a great atmosphere, and exceptional service – we’ll...
Read more4 of us got a table quite easily. But It took a long time to get served. Forgot our water multiple times we had to keep asking for it. We eventually got one bottle after about 30 minutes. We only got one bottle after asking for 2 and then they tried to charge for both. When our starter arrived we didn’t get any plates, our main came out, we still didn’t get our plates, we had to ask the server who brought our mains out for the plates he didn’t bring any out. He genuinely looked like he didn’t care or didn’t want to help, we asked him for our water and he ignored us and walked off. We asked the main guy who was seating people for plates, he took plates to two other large tables who hadn’t even ordered yet before we got our plates even though our mains were there on the table. The food was ok, wasn’t very full of flavour. Wasn’t worth the money or the extremely long wait and poor service. We tried to pay at the end the main guy kept walking off. We were stood at the desk to pay he walked off in to the back after we asked him for the bill. I had to go and fetch him to pay. Probably the worst service I have received in the whole of south east Asia. Avoid if you can. Extremely disappointed as the reviews looked really good. Not often I give bad reviews but this was...
