King Salmon Restaurant — Restaurant in Sa Pa Ward

The restaurant is located at the center area so it's easy to find. The place was crowded when I was there. We had to order in advance. It was dirty inside of the restaurant. The floor was slippery. The 2nd floor was wooden and it shaked everytime people walk. The utensils were dirty. In my opinion they put the tables to close to each other so if someone sit at the corner, it's hard to get out. Food was fresh. The sashimi part was not good since there was no seaweed. The pickle ginger was tasteless. The most important part was tuna and they made it too thin so it tasted mostly like nothing. Their hotpot was good, just the right taste. The artist who performed that night was good. But after that, some drunk people sang their songs and it was super noisy and caused me a headache. The name says it all! As expected of being the "king" of trading in specialties from the cold region of Sapa. Salmon are carefully selected from reputable, long-standing lakes of indigenous people. Diners can "point their fingers" at will before the chef performs skillful fish cooking skills. Salmon meat is fatty, crispy and not...fishy. Eating with soy sauce and mustard is perfect. Sturgeon is also a dish to try when coming here. The fish is kept alive before processing to ensure the freshest flavor. In the cold weather of Sapa, enjoy a variety of sturgeon dishes: roasted with salt, Roast the ham in batches and then put it in a hot pot and the hiccups will go away. We had such a wonderful experience at Cá Hồi Vua! The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to help us, even though we’re tourists and don’t speak Vietnamese. Their kindness made us feel very welcome.

The food was absolutely amazing — the salad was fresh, flavorful, and a generous portion. But the highlight was definitely the salmon — without exaggeration, it was the best I’ve ever had in my life. Perfectly cooked, rich in taste, and paired beautifully with the mushrooms, which were also delicious.
