Hải Đăng Cafe — Restaurant in Vung Tau City

After an interesting ride along narrow paths through the forest in cool air, you reach the café at the top of the mountain. Then comes the usual dilemma that now affects almost all cafés. A lovely view in a lovely shady spot, but minimalist service (self-service) and poor drinks. The iced fruit shake didn't contain any ice at all, it was just watery and slightly cool (everyone in the group). It was only tasty for the giant ant. So it ends up like in all those modern coffee shops: you only pay for the nice view. Why the hell can't you just offer good quality drinks too? You only save a few VND, but the guest...

Food: Good half boiled egg, recommended to have 4 eggs/adult. Drinks are ordinary. Price is average (see images attached).

Atmosphere: great view and atmosphere, especially early morning. However, beware of insect. I was attacked by mosquitos, although it's 7:30 AM with sun and wind.

Servics: basically OK. Important: check if the toilet has water before use, water is limited as it must be delivered can by can...

A good location way up on Small Mountain, just following the newly paved road all the way up the switchbacks you will arrive at a complex of many seating area providing a nice view of Vung Tàu & both Front & Back Beach, with Big Mountain & Long Son in the distant.
