In 1870 generals Bartolomé Mitre, Enrique Martínez and Manuel José Guerrico appointed a commission with the task of making a monument for Manuel Belgrano. This was requested to the French sculptor Louis-Robert Carrier-Belleuse, who would make the statue of Belgrano, and Manuel de Santa Coloma, who designed the horse. It was finished in 1872 and moved to Buenos Aires, where it was dedicated on September 24, 1873, at an anniversary of the Battle of Tucumán. Equestrian sculpture monument🏛️🏛️🏛️ of one of the leaders of the May Revolution for the Independence of Argentina.

It stands in front of Casa Rosada🏛️, as if to remind the Executive Offices about the people’s longing of peace and prosperity in the pursuit of freedom from the Spanish colonial rule.

At the foot of the monument is the Memorial of the Stones of Remembrance for the victims of COVID. The stones are painted or engraved of the names of those who perished from...

What a beautiful monument! The movement of the horse is very convincing. This person deserves to be remembered this way because he was a true patriot who did a lots of positives things to his beloved country.
