Booked a table weeks in advance for 13 people as a surprise birthday dinner for my pregnant fiancée. Unfortunately, we were split over two tables instead of being seated together, which made it hard for her to move around and enjoy time with everyone. On the booking I noted “no seafood” and “no raw meat,” and I also called 45 minutes before to confirm this, not only is my fiancée pregnant, but so is one of her best friends, and most people at the table don’t eat seafood. I was assured it was all noted and would be fine. I also let them know that everyone would arrive at 5:30pm but my partner and I would be there at 5:40 for the surprise. That was also confirmed as fine. When we arrived, she was happy and surprised but I was quickly questioned by a rather rude waiter asking about dietary requirements. I explained again that I’d already noted “no seafood or raw meat,” both in the booking and over the phone. He said “yep, yep” and asked if there were any allergies. I clarified again: no, just what I’d already listed. Then the first dish brought out was kingfish sashimi (raw fish). Only 3 of the 13 people could or would eat it. I asked the waiter why we were served it and he said he thought it was just the pregnant guest who couldn’t eat it. At that point I was frustrated and told him he clearly hadn’t listened. I had stated “no seafood” multiple times. No replacement dish was offered. Another waiter collecting the plates made a snarky comment like, “Well this is usually our signature crowd favourite,” to which I replied that it’s great for people who like raw fish, but not useful for our group. When mains started coming out, one table received multiple dishes while the second table didn’t get the full range. I had to raise this again before the other table was served properly. When it came time to pay, I covered the remaining $250, assuming it was for drinks, but everyone had already paid for theirs. After 10 minutes of back and forth, the staff admitted they’d overcharged us by $85 and refunded it. But as we left, we overheard the two waiters laughing about how they overcharged us, totally unprofessional. We’ve had a few hit-or-miss visits in the past, but this was the final straw. Won’t be coming back or...

Dinner @GoldenBoy309 for the feed me tuk tuk menu

Kingfish sashimi with nam jim, coconut cream, kaffir & finger lime - such lovely fresh flavours! Citrus, Thai herbs, slightly peppery, excellent combination.

Braised pork shoulder pancakes with cabbage, Thai herbs, sweet sauce - I love these types of pancakes and despite no duck, the tender pulled pork does the job with mint, greens, and hoisin sauce providing a delicious array of flavours.

Kampot pepper fried chicken, nam prik, green chilli sauce - very crunchy on the outside with a mild peppery flavour on the skin surrounding tender chicken. Very moreish, just keep coming back for more.

Green papaya salad with scud chilli, snake bean, tomato, dried prawn, tamarind dressing & toasted peanuts - this is super spicy but very deceptive. You're munching away on the strands of the grated papaya, the crunchy nuts, the dressing, and then your lips are zinging with a capital Z! It's so good though.

Char grilled pumpkin satay with seaweed crisps - soft sweet roasted pumpkin with a mild satay sauce, lovely combination with a touch of finely sliced chilli to counteract the sweetness. I love those seaweed crisps.

Pork salad - sirloin steak seared, sliced super thin and immersed in dressing with some spring onions. Make sure you add a squeeze of lime, the citrus flavour makes all the difference.

I'm not sure how much more food is to come but I was definitely done and advised it was only going to be dessert next. Fortunately I got a choice and gleefully ordered the popular roti with pandan custard I'd read about. The dessert looks big with a plate of golden brown flaky pastry with a drizzling of condensed milk and the gooey pandan custard. Like a well made roti, crunching it up shows its very light and the large plate of pastry is actually not so daunting. Very very flaky, this is a very delectable dish. All components just work well.

Fantastic dining experience, excellent service, lovely ambience, love the variety of dishes and the different flavours of each dish are on point, takes you back to Asia.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant for a special date night, and I must say that the overall experience was delightful. From the moment we entered, the friendly staff made us feel welcome and ensured that our evening was memorable.

One of the standout aspects of our visit was the exceptional service provided by the staff. They were not only warm and accommodating but also had an excellent understanding of their menu. We were pleasantly surprised when the staff took the time to recommend and select the perfect meals for us, taking into consideration our dietary requirements. Their attentiveness and knowledge added an extra touch of personalization to our dining experience.

Speaking of the food, it was truly outstanding. The flavors were expertly crafted, and each dish we ordered was a delectable culinary masterpiece. The chefs clearly possess a high level of skill and creativity, as evidenced by the artful presentation and the harmonious blend of flavors. We thoroughly enjoyed every bite and appreciated the effort put into creating such a memorable dining experience.

While the staff's friendliness and food quality were commendable, there was a minor hiccup in the service. Throughout our visit, we noticed that the wait staff seemed to rotate between a few individuals, resulting in a slightly disjointed experience. However, it's worth mentioning that despite this small inconvenience, the overall atmosphere and service remained pleasant.

In conclusion, this restaurant provided a memorable evening for our date night. The friendly staff, exceptional food, and their ability to cater to our dietary requirements were definite highlights. Although the handover between wait staff was a bit disjointed, it did not significantly impact our overall enjoyment. If you're looking for a place with great food and a warm atmosphere, this restaurant is definitely...

Had my 50th there last night and the food was great, service was good. However, we were a party of 16 and a small child and were told they would not do any split bills, they would not do multiple transactions and did not have a cash machine on site for ppl to get cash to sort out bills. Now I understand we all have the ability to transfer cash but not all of us are that close to have details and what a headache it was. We had ppl running to East tc to find atms and coming back trying to sort bills at two seperate tables. We had a 50th at a restaurant around the corner and they managed to be able to bill each person for each meal and every drink seperately, golden boys system is appalling. It didn't end there, upon paying a bill for $1500 I discovered they over charged our table $528, so now we had all over paid another 50 odd dollars to the unlucky person who paid the $1500 bill, and now she had to the retransfer monies back again. Not to mention the payee now has to wait x days for the refund to be returned. On top of all this we told them in advance about allergies and continued to bring foods to our table that could not be eaten by those patrons. Golden Boy have lost a few regular patrons from our party after this terrible service and we will never go there again. How hard is it to charge each person the $66 at the start and then sort out drinks as a group pull your socks up Golden Boy poor poor poor. Credit to the chef crew though as they cooked up a great dinner but were let down by the floor staff or one floor staff in charge of our table who should have thought hmmm that bill seems high in my experience I might just check it again.

A restaurant that you can keep coming back and trying new dishes. Golden Boy’s tuk tuk menu boasts a large variety of Thai fusion dishes that pack a punch of flavour and textures. It keeps you leaving the place pleasantly full! If you are still peckish, I love how they also have the option of getting more dishes at no extra price. But the amount they give you to begin with is enough for you to feel full! Being here a few times, you do get your classic dishes that are served again and again, such as the pork shoulder pancake and kingfish sashimi. The sashimi continues to have a fresh taste, with the coconut dressing coating the kingfish making it a nice one biter. The papaya salad had a good spice, what you expect a well made papaya salad to have! The chicken was slightly dry though seasoned well. We enjoyed the pad thai, saucy and the noodles were bouncy. The mains which are usually the curry dishes continue to have a great flavour profile and seasoned very well. The salt and pepper squid was not overcooked and was soft when you chew. Though it could do with a bit more salt, the sauce does compensate the lack of saltiness. Still making it a nice dish. The sticky rice is a hidden gem as most times the banana sundae is usually served as a finisher. The rice had a good consistency, not too hard and not runny, the good amount of stickiness that doesn’t coat your mouth after swallowing. The pandan custard (not shown) always pairs well with the roti that is served. The banana sundae is also quite sweet and a nice way to end the meal.
